Apparently this isn't new but I just heard about it recently. You have to apply for special accommodations which can include extra time, taking only one section at a time spread out over a few weeks, etc. Also, colleges and universities don't know if you received special accommodations or not.

What sayeth the OT?

Old article but here's the gist

ADA also allows for accommodations on board exams for doctors and other professions.

So, they get more time to take the test, better conditions, and performance enhancing drugs to boot? What a country. I believe this board's very own hammertime gets special treatment because someone sneezing or looking at him funny will make him melt down.

They also get more time on law school exams, even if they are on medication to correct their symptoms.

Did you know that kids with real ADHD actually need special treatment to complete the ACT and SAT?

Did you also know their parents get paid a disability check each month if they've filled out the right paperwork?

Bmath you are correct. When we sit for our different registries in radiology. The testing center always asks if we need special accommodations.

Even with medication? I'm sure extreme circumstances exist, but this accommodation just reeks of being easily abused.

This is correct. I was diagnosed in 92 and this was always an option available but the catch at my school was that you had to go sit with the tards and take your test with them. I decided to just fill in bubbles faster. It's worked out ok!
