We had people in law school in the 90s who got time and a half. WTF? I've yet to see a court or client give extra time to an atty based on ADD.

Isn't it part of the point of the tests to see how well you can do when stressed with a time limitation?

Extra time is bs and defeats the purpose. It sucks that some have a learning disability but it's not fair to give them extra time.

Some people are stupid. They don't score the ACT on a curve. Life's not fair.

If I had unlimited time, I'm sure I would have done better.

I am perfectly fine at work because I work with my hands doing interesting stuff. When I'm on the computer, I don't have 40 other people sitting around me talking and moving around either

I knew a girl who had "test anxiety." She got extra time for all of her law school exams and extra time on the Bar. Absolutely ridiculous.

Your comment is a classic example of "I can do it therefore your problem is not real."

People in this country have a real problem wrapping their heads around mental health issues.

Some of this also stems from having cookie cutter educational and testing systems for a very diverse student body that learns and relates in a broad set of ways.

Beating people into submission has been proven ineffective for a long time.

I personally know people who receive checks for this. $400 for one child to be exact.

Good thing they allow extra time to clamp that cerebral aneurysm for the neurosurgeon who has ADD.
