hard to believe that if you think medication is performance enhancing and unnecessary.

Actually it sounds exactly like the definition of ADHD as defined by the National Institute of Mental Health.
quote:
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development.
Inattention means a person wanders off task, lacks persistence, has difficulty sustaining focus, and is disorganized; and these problems are not due to defiance or lack of comprehension.

This isn't anything new. When I was in college I was eligible to apply for accommodations, but I never did... However; there were a good bit of people who had accommodations due to being ADHD. I think they were able to get someone to take their notes for them, get extra time for exams, etc.

You said:
*You have it.
*You didn't have to take medicine because you were smart enough to figure out how to not need it (rotflmao).
Hence, unnecessary.

Enjoy your back and forth with popcorn about the validity of an alleged condition. I'll be eating popcorn (but really BBQ nachos)

Are you just going to ignore what I quoted? It specifically states inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity.

Nah...not staying in this one anymore. It must be nice to know more than literally every medical and neurological association in the world. Congrats on that.

My brother had ADD and my dad always thought it was bullshite and the boy was just lazy or a bad student. I never really bought into the shite
Adult me learned that ADHD is very real. Have a step son that at 13 is pretty normal and makes decent grades with only the help of his medication. But from 2nd grade till now it took a lot of experimenting to find the right Rx for him and some very understanding teachers.

I knew it. Got unlimited time for the ACT back in '01. My reading score went from a 17 with regular time to a 32 with unlimited time.
You might ask, "But Hammertime, if you had unlimited time, how'd you not get a perfect score on the reading portion?". Well, that's because I have ADD, which gives me major reading comprehension problems. I can read something 10x, and not know what I read two minutes later.
I finished all of the other portions in under the allotted time for normal students, and got basically similar grades as when I took it timed.
Overall scored a 32.
Was gonna do it for the FE, but they basically make you turn in every document from birth and get sworn statements from everyone. Passed with about 10 minutes to spare.
