the problem is the double-benefit not only do those with ADHD get to legally use performance enhancing drugs, ON TOP OF THAT, they get special accomodations
Boy it must be giving them a real advantage over you "normal" folk. Here's a statistic for you:
Just 5 percent of college students with ADHD will graduate, versus 41 percent of their nondisabled peers, according to a 2008 report in the The Journal of Learning

Diagnosed with ADD in college. Took the ACT as a Freshman in high school and scored a 27. I figure if I had actually taken meds at the time, I would've at least hit 30+. Its not other people's fault you're a dumbass. If you do good enough, you're going to get into college regardless of how others perform. All y'all need to quit complaining and shirking responsibility for your own faults.

It's not a given that simply having ADHD get you accommodations on those testS. Functional limitations must be documented.

I knew it. Got unlimited time for the ACT back in '01. My reading score went from a 17 with regular time to a 32 with unlimited time.
Hmmmm...

Freaking ridiculous.
My 10 year old daughter said a boy in her class gets to go to a room by himself to take tests at school and I could not believe it. She says he's a terrible distraction in class as well. This is a private school, they should boot his arse out if he can't hack it. His family is a prominent family in Lafayette so he gets to stay. I've seen other kids get the boot for lesser reasons.

Well aren't you a compassionate one.

Sounds like maybe they're doing it more for the rest of the class than for him. But if he's that wacked, he probably needs some special attention.

Did you also know their parents get paid a disability check each month if they've filled out the right paperwork?

I wish I took advantage of that. I heard you could get unlimited time on your test. Man, that would have been sweet!

Incorrect. Another myth that is perpetuated .

Not new
I took the act once with unlimited time and once without
I felt like the test with time was easier, however i lacked time

My memory isn't spectacular. I've said that countless times. Moral of the story is the general trend.
Just this semester, I got special accommodations to take my tests in an isolated environment and extended time. I don't need the extended time though. My grades went from Cs and Ds to now all As.
For the first test I took, I started in the teachers lounge and it was amazing. Completed 4/5 questions correctly with a break to watch this hot chick making coffee. No problem. Went right back to my test.
After about an hour, he switched me to the regular classroom with the other students, and the difference was night and day. Even with the other 39 people quiet, I still couldn't keep my head in the game. Ended up getting 50% on the last problem and didn't even try the bonus. I can see a noticeable difference in my writing/organization/mistakes when I switched classrooms.

The timing is the hardest part of the ACT. Firmly believe I would have scored a 33-34 with time extension. Scored a 29.

I don't ever run out of time on math or science tests if I stay focused. I usually finish early. If I get distracted, my brain just completely shuts off, and I cannot start back up

I made a 16, I blame the man.

Honestly, what good is it doing these kids to give them extra time and accommodations?
It seems to me that it's setting them up for failure in the real world. When their boss tells them they have to get a project done by such and such date and they are used to working on their own time schedule, do you think the boss is going to be okay with that?

I knew a girl who had "test anxiety." She got extra time for all of her law school exams and extra time on the Bar. Absolutely ridiculous.

If an employee had documented ADD/ADHD, most HR departments wouldn't touch that ADA nightmare with a 10' pole. They would tell the boss to make accommodations.
