No, if he's legit im good with it being just a good deed.
Just assume it's good like you did when you gave him the money, consider a good deed, and move on.

his car broke down, he has work in 30 mins, and he needs $30 for something about a tow truck company
Should have called his bluff and offered to give him a ride to work
Of course you got scammed

Matt 25:30 bro. If you got scammed then don't worry bad karma will catch up to him and good karma will come back to you.

So what do yall think? Scammed or no?
Scammed. Why didn't he just call a friend/coworker to pick him up for work. He had is ID and car keys, but no wallet?

I'm going with scammed. The last time my husband gave any money to someone asking for it was a few years ago, at a gas station. Guy had a work truck and work clothes on like a painter or construction worker, and told him he needed gas money to get to work because he didn't get paid until Friday. So my husband gave it to him, thinking "at least he's got a job and is trying", then was hit up the following week at a different gas station by the SAME guy with the same story.
So don't be surprised if you see that same guy out asking for $ again sometime, as they don't seem to remember who they've hit up before.

The tow truck gonna take him to work?
Also, the few times I've needed one I've never been charged for a towtruck up front. They hold the vehicle as collateral.
He has at least one person in his life he could call before being forced to ask a stranger for 30 bucks.

100% scam, but if it helps, you still made him happy with whatever substance he bought with the cash.

Did you quote a bible verse and then talk about the power of karma? Interesting to say the least.

Sounds legit.
By the way, I'm all out of free AOL CD internet minutes and I have a very important Skype interview for a job that would totally help my family move out of the shelter. Would you paypal me $30 for some more internets?

you did what was in your heart the right thing. And no matter the outcome, you still did the right thing knowing only what you knew. Dont even question it

I always wondered who was stupid enough to keep these guys on the streets repeating the oldest scam in the book.
Posted on 3/18/16 at 9:54 am to Skinner
this seems like a bragging thread that you had $30 cash on you at your dispense.

Said he had $20 cash and needed a other $30, car broke down on lee between burbank and Nicholson, asked me at the circle K on corner of burbank and east biyd
Isn't there still a Circle K at the corner of Lee & Nicholson? Why wouldn't he be there asking for tow truck money? Or the Winn Dixie parking lot on Burbank & Lee? Definitely sounds fishy that he's so far from his broken down car.

When you give like this you A) do it because you want to and not because you were made to feel guilty and B) expecting nothing in return.
That way you are never disappointed.
