Details on Starbase Louisiana Deal

With all of the complainers posting on social media without actually knowing anything, I decided to share some of the stated aspects of this deal.
* At least $100 billion in capital investment in Vermilion Parish
* 3,000 direct jobs created over ten years
* Average annual salary of approximately $92,600
* An estimated 8,100 additional indirect jobs for contractors, suppliers, and local businesses
* A $20 million upfront payment to local taxing bodies
* At least $25 million annually for 25 years, with annual increases
* More than $825 million in total payments to local taxing bodies over the agreement
* A $25 million donation to the Community Foundation of Acadiana
* A reported $100 million contribution to Louisiana’s Coastal Master Plan
* Funding for wetland restoration, shoreline stabilization, habitat protection, and improved coastal hydrology
* Full mitigation of unavoidable wetland damage
* SpaceX-funded electrical generation, transmission, and utility upgrades
* Protection for existing utility customers from project-related infrastructure costs
* Opportunities for Louisiana contractors and suppliers through Source Louisiana
* Additional local sales-tax revenue
* A 50% discount on eligible Starlink plans for Vermilion Parish residents
* No upfront Starlink equipment costs for new Vermilion Parish subscribers
* Potential road and bridge improvements, including improvements to Highway 82
* Expansion of Louisiana’s aerospace industry and workforce
* New high-paying career opportunities intended to help Acadiana residents remain in the region
* Performance requirements allowing Louisiana to withhold or recover incentives if SpaceX fails to meet applicable investment or employment commitments

This is a big deal for La and the property tax incentives aren't really that egregious. Honestly this is a better deal for the state than what they give away to get Bucees. I just hope they don't go all Louisianastan and blow it up.

If we’re being honest, I’ve never understood what CFA has actually done and accomplished with all the state and local tax dollars they’ve received over the years. Give the $25 Million to Delcambre High School instead.

Can't wait for the stereotypical pissing and moaning by the locals about how "my heritage" and "my livlihood" is being taken away, starts to swirl. I can all but guarantee you there will be lawsuits filed in a few years about how "we can't catch no shrimp or crabs" or they "run off all de ducks".

It’s a fantastic deal and much better than ANY deal for the state with any company currently or previously. It honestly just shows that Elon is good peeps. You know we’re not getting the same guarantees for power and utilities data centers much less half the other guarantees.

Louisiana residents should want for nothing if this happens. There is enough money that all of our roads, infrastructure and schools should be perfect. But it will line pockets instead.

Elon and SpaceX will do right by this deal. However, that was never my concern.
The issue is I have zero faith in state/local government to use this influx of funding effectively
Mid Barataria Sediment Diversion + Pogie boat restrictions + $100M investment would be the greatest coastal restoration effort in Louisiana history. Instead, we canceled the project, reduced pogie boat buffer zones, and the $100M will go line the pockets of local reps and businessmen.
