I went to Juveniles house in Slidell the week before Katrina.
His father was there and he is a fisherman. We talked fishing and I had been fishing that night in the GOM.
I had 125 nice trout iced up in the truck and wound up giving him a couple of dozen. He borrowed an ice chest from me to carry them home.
He used the ice chest as a float to get out of the flooded hood after Hurricane Katrina. Made his way to Esplanade Avenue.
He was fussing at the corpsman when the helicopter hoisted him off of the neutral ground. They wouldn’t let him put the ice chest in the basket and he told them “ that white man from Houma ain’t never gonna give me no more fish if I don’t bring him that ice chest”
