My brother lives in the quarter and is a huge lib and supporter of her... I can’t wait to talk to him about where he’s going to park...

some additional parking garages nearby would have to be built to accomodate.

So you’re saying make the hard rock hotel a giant parking garage

This is long overdue. I’m all for a good shite on Latoya thread, but this is something that should have happened long ago. Delivery trucks and residents will have an exception.

There are tons of delivery trucks all over the quarter everyday at any given time.

At any given time being the key part of that. It’s not just in the mornings. These trucks are rolling in and out all throughout the day.

Cars should already have been banned on certain blocks of Bourbon and Royal for most of the day. She seems to forget that outside of a few blocks the quarter is a functioning neighborhood.

I said this before, isn't there some advisor that should be "advising" before she says stupid shite?

She has a ton of yes men and women. Her advisors/top lieutenants have fairly high paying jobs that they don't want to lose. I've been in meetings with her. Nobody is going to tell her shite.

However, if I was a mayor or a public official, I would certainly have a confidant that I would ask "does this make me sound stupid" before announcing dumb arse shite.

making it happen would be a helluva challenge. i don't see the local government having the brainpower to figure it out.

Good excuse for Destroya to take trips to Florence, Amsterdam, Ghent, Cologne, etc

God....... this woman is fricking stupid

Usually I would agree with you, but I don't really have a problem with this. If you spend any amount of time in the quarter at all you would understand this. I sure she is referring to pedestrian vehicles, if not then yes she is fricking stupid.

Exactly. It's a constant flow. There's so many places there that it wouldn't be feasible for a million different vendor/supply companies to make deliveries only in the morning or something.

She also said that she wants the locals to embrace and ‘take back the quarter’. How in the world will New Orleanians support the quarter??? I really think she has lost it, that is if she ever ‘had it’.

I still remember her daughter taking a selfie from a hotel room on the night she got elected that showed (in a mirror) Destroya unclothed putting make up on. We should have known then that her tenure would be a disaster.

on the surface, it's not a bad idea...however the devil is in the details... how do you handle logistics? getting people in and out of hotels?

The only change needs to be figure out how to keep cars from having to cross Bourbon after 7PM or so.

This may work:

Taxis/Ubers stage on Royal and Dauphine

Once the Bourbon cross streets close - 2 way traffic allowed on the block between Bourbon and Royal/Dauphine, with the only traffic allowed on these sections the cars coming in/out of the parking lots. Right of way to the person leaving the cross street.

May require betting lighting in some areas +/- 1 block from Bourbon to help tourists feel safe making that walk.

oh fricking Christ Sake.....she is is fricking idiot

Does she even think before she speaks? Who lets her throw these ducmb fricking ideas out there without consulting with someone.

Does she have any idea how many hotel and public parking garages there are in the Quarter?

Does she have any idea how many private parking lots there are in the Quarter?

Does she have any idea how many restaurants that have valets in the Quarter?

Does she realize how much money the city generates from parking tickets and boots in the Quarter??

This woman is seriously mentally ill....I honestly believe she needs a physc evaluation.

Should have called it “The City That Cars Forgot.”

Of all the problems the city has, this is what she prioritizes?

Cars are a handy thing to duck behind when gunfire erupts.

Agreed. With the delivery trucks give them an ample window in the morning to make the deliveries. After 10:30-12 no deliveries allowed.
