re: Minneapolis police kneels on man neck until he dies- Cops fired

Again, all I see in this thread are a bunch of people jumping to conclusions. I shouldn’t be surprised because we see this all the time.
The only thing that I am certain of at this point is that I am certain that I will never be physically harmed by a police officer. ...

So it doesn’t matter if they had the guy ‘restrained’ and he fought through it and still posed a threat?
From the video I saw, I don’t think that the cops used excessive force to keep this guy restrained that still posed a threat. Again, I don’t know if that was the case until more evidence come...

That on top of the cop saying they tried to get him in the police car for over ten minutes. Again we don’t have all the evidence and I will wait until we do before I throw multiple cops under the proverbial bus. ...
You are saying we shouldn't make assumptions about somethign we clearly saw, yet you have the audacity to say:
I’m sure that the tox report will show that the guy was on a lot of drugs
Just going by what was said in the video. ...
you get cuffed and taken to jail by force if necessary.
There were a lot of cops at the scene. The video has some evidence (a cop’s version) that this was tried and the guy didn’t or wouldn’t comply. I’ve seen that happen before. I’m not saying that the cops shouldn’t be charged....
I’m a big police supporter and typically am on their side. This is the worst police brutality video I’ve seen recently. This was a POS on a power trip that wanted to show everyone there that he was boss. He should get 1st degree murder for this. How someone could have that little care for hum...
re: Destroya considering making the Quarters "pedestrian only"- no cars allowed

She also said that she wants the locals to embrace and ‘take back the quarter’. How in the world will New Orleanians support the quarter??? I really think she has lost it, that is if she ever ‘had it’.
I still remember her daughter taking a selfie from a hotel room on the night she got elected th...
re: Are restaurant owners adjusting pay for waitstaff during this time?

Ah, that makes sense. I just Xed out the tip line on the CC receipt and slipped the waiter some cash. Up to him how he handled it from there. ...
Are restaurant owners adjusting pay for waitstaff during this time?
Posted by WhiteGravy on 5/27/20 at 8:02 am
I dined last weekend at one of my ‘pre covid19’ regular spots. I left the waiter a rather large tip (double the amount of the bill) on the credit card slip. The waiter came back to the table and informed me that the restaurant is currently taking all tips. I assume that in order to get staff willing...
re: What restaurant near you has done better food since the quarantine started?

I want to try their regular menu. I have really enjoyed the Chinese food they have been doing and I also really liked the chicken parm family meal with cheese sticks a couple of weeks ago.
I’m going to have to try Blue Oak soon. ...

I’ve enjoyed the Chinese food on Friday’s from Juniors. I had not dined there pre covid19. ...
What restaurant near you has done better food since the quarantine started?
Posted by WhiteGravy on 5/26/20 at 2:07 pm
I think Lula in New Orleans has knocked it out the park since lock down started. I frequent the restaurant a lot due to the location but the menu and food have never impressed. I have had six or seven family style meals there since this madness has started and am blown away. Amazing how different t...
