You’re probably using an app that shows “future” radar. That feature is basically the app putting together what it thinks the radar would look like. It’s not actual radar data from radar sites.

Does appear to be strange. Likely the difference between a cut off low vs a long-wave trough.
Cut off low kicks it east just enough reposition the northern track.
