On the NHC website where you can access all the graphics, discussion, etc there is an option for local products, and you can click on parts of the map and it will show forecasted winds. Right now BR says 25-35 sustained 45 gusts

Can y'all please shut the hell up. This thread is wasted with this back and forth garbage.

The next update is 2 hours away. There is no new info as of now. If you have a question for the experts, ask it. Otherwise go back to the soccer board if you don't like what's going on in here.

I would think at this time, it won't be unusual for us to see a shift of 10-20 miles before landfall. With these steering currents

My understanding has always been that the whole point of the cone is to provide all potential limits of the center path..

From what I can tell, the cone is still about 130 miles wide at estimated landfall. So conservatively, pretty much anywhere from Port Arthur to Marsh Island are still in play for a direct hit.

I have always liked seeing the cone and estimated center path despite the “inaccuracy” of the center path.

I wish the people in this thread bickering about nonsense would stop, and that the focus would be on informative posts only, so those of us who need to get information can without sifting through garbage to get it. Start another thread if you want to get into a pissing match. Or, maybe the mods can start another dedicated information thread like they did during Laura. Either way I am extremely grateful for the knowledgeable posters and the information here. It is awesome.

This. These clowns need to shut the frick up.

Yes the LCH radar is out. They will just use I would guess Ft Polk radar or Houston radar. It’ll be a while before LCH is back to full service

Amazing what can happen in 24 hours. Wife and I were about to end up in Austin, Hot Springs, or Destin. Now we are staying put.

How many years have we had hurricane threads? How many of them are like this? There are hours in between new data and updates. It's the OT. People will kill time the way OT has always killed time. And yet people still cry about it.

Isn’t there a radar in Slidell too? Not saying that one is closer just asking out of curiosity.

So what’s current best guess for center of hurricane? Lake Charles?

They saying Cat 2 at landfall? Weaker? Stronger?

Conflicting information out there if you can’t identify time of release as this shot changes a lot.

Thanks!
