On the contrary, I see them as being smart enough to keep a safe distance.

It’s definteky wrapping the eye wall back up this morning. Today will be the last chance to really intensify before waters get too cool to intensify

I just looked, the five-day cone from the very first advisory included all of south Louisiana from the TX/LA border to extreme western Florida panhandle.

5 days out they said a storm that was well over 1000 miles away(that wasn't even a tropical depression yet, btw) would hit Louisiana as a hurricane. It's going to hit Louisiana as a hurricane and you're mad that they missed it by 100 miles.

So I guess the NWS-LC radar is still out. Is there a non-NWS radar in the area to use? Or do we just have to look at long range from HGX or LIX?

After that, the whole coast of Louisiana and SE Texas should be on guard.

they did.
they even drew a cone on a map to show what areas need to be on guard.

I have to agree they do a pretty good job on their forecasts. There’s a lot of unknowns they have to allow for and to get within 100 miles is impressive.

I’m afraid that a slight shift East in the track would catch a lot of people in Lafayette off guard. It seems, and I could be wrong, that they have been very lucky with storms for a long time. When was the last time Lafayette had hurricane force winds?

Delta I don’t think Delta is going to be no more than a big thunderstorm by the time it makes it to the delta.

I see storm surge inundation predictions have gone done significantly.

I'm a low post poster and I'm not a Chicken alter that tries to start shite! Well, I mostly don't start shite. Sometimes, kind of. I'm not an alter though!!
