I know all the new poles in my area were secured with this sprat foam shite that gets as hard as concrete. I hit some with a hammer and it’s like a rock.

NHC still has it becoming a Major and then weakening before landfall

Look how “close” the NHC was on their landfall prediction just 2 days ago....

Why does WWL keep sending out alerts saying Delta could get up to Cat 4? Am I missing something because everything I've read in here says Cat 1 to low Cat 2.

Maybe they’re talking about the maximum strength in the Gulf before landfall? I think it could strengthen a bit more before it fades down as it gets closer to land.

also it's kind of the same thing that happened after Rita, when people were more self-sufficient and helped each other out

A guy that used to post here, I believe he was in the reserved worked both Katrina and Rita and he said it was night and day.

It also hasn't made landfall yet and could very well be much closer if it shifts east

So all the 6z model runs have moved back east a bit, and the GFS ensembles have a pronounced eastern component all of a sudden.

This may be the beginning of better news for our LC friends.

He doesn't have one.

Storm was entirely across the Gulf.

While we all wish this thing would just go away, since it is not, I’d rather see this thing drift east to help our friends in the southwestern part of the state.

Going to suck either way but resources I’m sure have to be more limited for them after what they just went through.

Two days ago when the storm wasn’t even in the GOM, the NHC issued a forecast for the center that will miss by ~100 miles, in all likelihood. The fricking horror.

Every single one of your posts in this thread is you bitching about NHC. How about you start putting out predictions since you can do it better.

This. NHC does its best to give people ample warning and people getting irate over projections changing. Unreal.

Sitting on the back porch, drinking coffee and watching the neighborhood rooster walk through my fenseless yard, and seeing all these new campers in the hood roll out this morning.

I just have this defeated feeling. I’m just so tired of all this shite, this year as a whole.
