Well the 4am update from today had 80mph gusts in BR so a shift East and it’s Gustav 2.0.

It’s continuously shifting west with each update. Possible to move back, but that would go against the trend.

Going through Gustav wasn't scary. I sat on my back porch and watched most of it. It's the 2 weeks of no power after that sucked hard.
I was at my future in-laws house with my college roomates. We "evacuated" here out of Nola. We drank and chilled outside most of the day. It wasn't until the next day that I heard about my dad flooding in Zachary and we went to help him gut it. Those days without power and sweating your arse off were horrible.

Is that true?

It trended west this morning. But even NHC admitted they were west of the consensus. I think, based on all the runs in the interim that the track shifts slight back East, somewhere close to, if not over, white lake.

Yeah it seems to be doing the opposite of Laura, which was moving east each update. Wondering how far west it is gonna end up.

The numbers say Gustav was worse in Baton Rouge than Andrew, but for some reason I remember Andrew being worse. Maybe it’s just kid memory vs. adult memory.

For some reason my most vivid memory of Andrew was finding a McDonalds that was open and seeing the golden arches smashed and twisted laying in the parking lot. It must have been the only place open because it was packed.

Yes. Write your SSN on your arm so they can identify your bloated corpse.

FWIW, Steve Cap just tweeted this for comparison. This is based on his forecast for BR.

That’s called “BR Privilege”.

GUSTAV was weak shite in BR!!
For comparison, I've been here through every hurricane that has passed through here since 1952. You are as full of shite as a Christmas turkey.

Guess you had no trees in your yard. A bunch of water oaks or pines trees around your house ups the pucker factor.

Similar shift of approx 110 miles to the east was seen for Sally. Although I'm not of the time frame that shift occured over.
