Fight fire with fire.
Planning a trip? Get another account to flood your email with alternatives like train, rental, and competing airlines. Talk about how you have absolutely zero intention of using X airline.
Use the system against them.

The best part is that when their dumbass decisions cause them financial hardship our benevolent government will bail them out with our tax dollars.

So we need to start google searching about WIC and food stamps, and apply for welfare via email before trying to buy airline tickets?

Time to go back to paying with cash and writing letters.

Uber uses similar pricing algorithms.
They know what restaurant you are at and which hotel you are heading to. They know if you’re local or on business travel. Their algorithms use the data to provide a price.
It was suggested to me to walk down the street from the nice steakhouse I was at and put in a random address a block from the hotel.
None of my apps need to read my email. This has to stop.

How is Delta going to get access to my email without me allowing it or agreeing to it?
Unless you're a hermit or very tech savvy and privacy obsessed you have a profile with all sorts of data attached to it that can be sold to or accessed by delta. Your email provider almost certainly has access to your email and has terms that allow them to monetize you, though possibly not in an identifying way. Your calendar, too. You very likely also have apps on your phone that have access to your calendar and location, maybe your photos or your email.

You don’t think a company, that has to enrich their shareholders, would do that?
Not my point. People are welcome to discuss the dangerous places AI and greed may take us, of course.
But this type of "journalism" is just as bad as what MSM does, IMO. It's just as deceptive and just as greed-focused. If they talked about it as it is - which is a pure hypo being discussed by two people that may or may not have any insight into the topic, they wouldn't get as many impressions and wouldn't get as much revenue.
And it works, you have people on an LSU football board going "well screw Delta!" in response to "Wall Street Apes" posting a video of two people we don't know talking about something that hasn't, to our knowledge, actually happened.

Yea.
As far as the notion that you can simply just not agree to allow Delta (or most any company who wants it) access to your data

I’m semi retired. I thought about getting a part time job at Delta, American. Employees fly free

Pseudo news becomes that Delta is going to crawl your email and jack prices when a family member dies
what do you mean by Pseudo news? Its been reported on multiple outlets that Delta intends to use your search history and purchasing habits to charge you for your flight. Its bullshite. Hopefully, Delta takes a huge loss if they go through with this. But I don't see how that's pseudo reporting. Are you taking issue with the death scenario?

While it hasn't happened (to our knowledge) with Delta, I believe it HAS happened in other instances (uber being the prime example).
Given the history and nature of how airline tickets are priced, it would actually be pretty shocking if airlines opted NOT to implement something of this nature as soon as they could.
I can see the headline already from 10 years from now: "Penske Automotive Group is now facing a class action lawsuit for unfair trade practices after allegedly using a system to access customer's private data, allowing the dealer network to access and analyze prospective customer communications with competing dealers nationwide."

Non fixed pricing, based on a customers desperation, ability and willingness to pay is as old as time.

I'm usually pretty loyal to Delta when I fly mostly because I absolutely hate American Airlines, but this might drive me away.

Or you could use cost and economics?
Nevermind the subsidized routes.
I’m guessing the AaaaaaIiiiiiiiii is really just buzzword for how many credit card applications can we steal from data centers.
