For icing to occur, rain is needed. I’m pretty sure rain is out of the question, and never has been in the forecast.

Sleet won’t cause icing on power lines and trees. There’s a chance of some sleet, but as others have said, it should be followed by snow.

In other words, we should be good outside of pine tree limbs falling on power lines.

The pine trees in south louisiana cannot handle the weight of snow. Many limbs will fall and bring power lines with them. I’ve personally witnessed it every time it snows here Absolutely. When we got 6.5 inches in Hammond back in 2008 they were snapping left and right.

No trees in my neck of the woods thanks to Ida.

I wrapped the north under side of my house with a Silt Fence since I am elevated 3 feet.

Perfect buy, comes with stakes and a 3x100 foot tarp like material.

I will probably be stuck at work until Wednesday or Thursday because of the bridges going out.

Even noon is pushing it close for NOLA. They should probably leave mid morning

Now they saying they might leave at noon on Tuesday. Does anyone think this is possible or wise?

I’d leave at noon on Monday. Depending on where in FL, try to get off of I-10 before it starts

I woke up this morning leaving that second buddy heater that was giving me trouble last night that I bought. Worked fine. Fired right up. Guessing the hose needed to pressurize or drain air overnight or something. Either way, works perfect now.

Do you guys recommend burning all the propane out of it with the propane off when you're not using it or is it okay to leave it inside the hose so it's easier to start? After this is over I'm definitely going to drain it.

If they set up with gas hooked to them they are harder to start in my experience. Like I said I have to use cotton swab with alcohol to clean it and get it to start.

Yes, it's absolutely bizarre in here people are rooting for this. I guess you don't deal with subsidizing everyone's insurance and costs going through the roof.

I don't care if this is a once and a lifetime event. So was big hurricanes that rolled through and destroyed everything. If this was 1-2 inches of snow? Sure, celebrate.

I mean I got 5 inches in 2017 and had zero issues. A foot may be a different story.

It appears the trends are moving that way

Two trends I've noticed following the projections over the last few days or week

1. The snow line continues to trend more south. The storm itself seems to be MILDLY trending more south in its overall geographic location. However, the line of demarcation between snow and sleet seems to be moving futrher and further south to a greater degree as well expanding the snow portion of the storm to a larger and larger field.

2. The projected snow totals seem to continue to rise as well in all areas encompassed in the snow area.

Like the user above said there's going to be plenty of people with issues and you're going to subsidize it on your insurance so enjoy it while you can.

People saying water plants before this. Should you water the grass? Does that help the soil or no?

Sounds like you are aware of the challenge. Just stay loose and it should be fine.

Dude shut the hell up with all of this…we all know we live in a tough spot for insurance, why can’t we enjoy a snow storm for the novelty…if you are posting in here, and can’t afford your insurance premiums, you should probably be handing out flyers for snow shoveling at $40/ hour instead of being a Debbie downer

I went to college, graduated with a professional degree, and make plenty enough money to afford insurance…sorry you didn’t and don’t

Pro tip: clean out y'alls gutters so that when all this shite melts it'll drain down instead of getting wet up underneath your shingles. I had some close calls after arctic death 21, and that was just because they're not sloped very well.
