Ha.

But yet I bet not one word of this was ever mentioned face to face during the parade.

Man up and tell them to their face next time.

Makes a good thread/read this morning though. Nice try

At least you can retreat to your gated community with the ever-so-secret #9999 gate code. Just remember your address so you don't accidentally park in the driveway of your neighbors identical home.

Right. I'm going take my young children and walk up to a group of white people blaring rap music, smoking two cigarettes and one time (literally saw this), wearing cowboy boots but pants hanging down to the knees, and say "thanks for being trashy." I'm sure a lot will be accomplished.

Anyone remember when all Houma parades started on the East side? But in front of the hospital was still prime viewing.

Yes Houma Parades use to stage next to Ellender, run down Grand Caillou to East Main, take a left on East Main and disband on Lafayette Street. They built the twin spans and changed the parade route to be totally on the West Side.

For the non-Northshore residents:

Slidell is the new Chalmette. Lacombe is where St. Tammany hides all the black people. Bogalusa and Franklinton might as well be Alabama.

Mandeville is still the uppity paradise we all moved here for.

Covington is a blend of all of the above.

Yeah but Mandeville has the poor. Covington is way more elite than Mandeville.

Actually, a pretty good description. But we can add the Italian mafia hanging out in Lacombe with their restaurants. A nice trail in the area for biking and jogging. Also, a bunch of movies and tv shows are filmed in Lacombe.

ETA: in laws live on the bayou in Lacombe.

Nah... while downtown Covington is really nice, you're mistaking 'new' for 'elite'. New neighborhoods with 3 house designs and no trees is not elite.
