Dealer license plate frames - why?

who cares, most dont care enough to put on a custom one, and DGAF about a dealer name being on it

if you hate your car dealer that much, you should have bought somewhere else

Because I don’t care at all. Nothing could be less important than this to me.

Police pay dealers to put them on. They set up pretextual stops because they almost always obscure at least a small portion of the state on plates.

Yep. In Louisiana, most of them obscure the renewal sticker in the bottom corner.

I take that off and we actually have them take off their dealership sticker on back as well before we drive off.

Is that worse than a big Yeti sticker across the back window? Seriously.

Is it any different if you takeoff the license plate frame but leave the dealer decal?

I removed both the day I bought the vehicle.

When you order a vehicle instead of buying off the lot you can just ask them not to apply any of their branding and, in my experience, they will respect your request.

I likely wouldn't buy the car. Too many other options now. If a dealer wants to live in the 80s with that crap I'm not buying it.

The fact that you see them out in the wild is why.

The Dealer stickers you could peel off, but those Dealer stamped bumpers were horrible. This on top of the Dealer advertising fee they added to the price.

I immediately take off everything associated with the dealer as soon as I get my car home. Not really that hard to tell where I got it from though. Only one Infiniti dealership in town.

It lasted until the first car wash then broke. Now I have an LSU frame. Not a big deal. I actually like my salesman. Buy all my cars through him.

Haven't seen those in over 30 years. And they sucked back then. At least today's are decals or are attached with hot glue type of adhesive that can easily be peeled off.

The dealer decal badges are even worse. I attribute to laziness and/or lack of appreciation for clean-looking vehicles.

I remove tags, stickers, badges... but will offer to let them leave them on for $$$$ off purchase.

Dealer decals are immediately removed.

I put the plate frame behind the license plate to keep it from vibrating against the bumper and potentially scratching it.

Nothing is worse than a car with a license plate frame that doesn’t match the make of the car. Look at me I bought my Nissan Altima from Jaguar Dallas.

Gotta admit, the old-school metal dealer badges are kinda retro cool.
