Don’t tell anyone but there are a couple of stretches of beach with Destin quality sand on Debbie Drive off of Carr Dr. I should have asked if you’ve ever been to Destin first.
Interesting...I wouldn't have guessed that.
I honestly just want to see what's in the general area. I don't necessarily have to go to Slidell, but it's 22 miles away...and unknown to me.
I travel frequently for work, so I have been to most of the best spots in the state. Slidell is not on my radar for work travel. I just have the day off and thought I'd see something new.

Don’t go.
But if you must, there’s about two restaurants and they’re both on Bayou Bonfouca.
Palmettos on the Bayou & Nathan’s
Other than that, don’t go.
By the way, I think I forgot to mention you might want to generally avoid Slidell.

This isn’t an OT shtick thing, but I really wouldn’t bother. Slidell is a shithole.
If you want to take a short day trip, go the MS coast

I have given that a thought, but I just went there a few weeks ago.
I'm just looking for something more local that is new to me.

Park the car in the harbor and walk around. Can’t go wrong between Cuz’s, Trapanis (& upstairs bar), TBT, 200NB (& upstairs bar), Ugly....nicer places are Fields and The Sycamore House.
Antique stores all over.
