Park the car in the harbor and walk around. Can’t go wrong between Cuz’s, Trapanis (& upstairs bar), TBT, 200NB (& upstairs bar), Ugly....nicer places are Fields and The Sycamore House.

Antique stores all over.

That might be what I do. Google says it's a 52 min drive. I have not been to BSL since 2002/03...We only stopped to eat. Before that, 1993?

Cool! Not tomorrow, but I'll keep that in mind for later.

We moved here in 2003. The changes have been transformative. I miss how it was, but it’s great now too.

Driving around is in order, there has to be more new ‘Coastal Carolina” houses here than anywhere.

No NOLA. I've had enough NOLA...and will be forced back due to Mardi Gras stuff.

Landmass is a possibility. BStL.

Don’t tell anyone but there are a couple of stretches of beach with Destin quality sand on Debbie Drive off of Carr Dr.

Do tell everyone that beach is infested. Sand fleas, snakes, alligators, scorpions during the summer, broken glass EVERYWHERE. If you get into the water right there, instant herpes

Meander up to Pearl River for the ultimate baw experience. Swing by the pit stop or trackside for a knuckle check.

Don’t oversell it! He’ll be disappointed.

I forgot to mention Fort Pike. Is that open to visitors?

If you go to the MS gulf coast, take Hwy 90 and pass by the spot where Jayne Mansfield died. The old serpentareum is closed as is the Pink Panther trailer park, though.

Hit up some paintball at gulf coast paintball, KYs is a staple (nothing ground breaking) or south side cafe. Soda shop is a cool soda jerk place. Brass monkey has a great selection of beer.

Slidell rocks
Kayak rental at the bait shop by the train station and then kayak the bonfica to the lake
Dinner at palmettos or Nathan’s. Great restaurants

I’m certainly not an elitist, but a day trip to SLIDELL seems like a waste of a day. I’d rather a day trip to manchac.
