Probably so, since the one dude thought nothing of a parting pistol whip. A friend was involved in the Freret St. incident last year - she was grazed when shot at as she took off. Fox 8
Not surprisingly they moved out of state.

I tell my kids to check the surroundings, get in the car and go immediately.

Dan's lucky he didn't get knocked out - could have lost a lot of blood before someone stopped to help and dial 911.

Today, I've learned she's not allowed to refer to New Orleans in a possessive sense now. If you are chased out of your home by violent crime, you are also milquetoast.

Does that mean I have a claim to all of the corn and soybean farms that are subsidized by my tax dollars?

If you were to make a post about agriculture and say "our corn harvest" or "We need to ..." that would be perfectly fine.

Anyone that said "you're not a farmer, why are you saying "we" would be just as moronic as you were in your post.

And maybe. Maybe. I meant “our restauranteurs” in a more global sense than just New Orleans. It’s not like this crime wave is limited to just NOLA.

Here is post from the irish channel FB group from 15-16 hours ago. Note they are talking about a charger (maybe) and in the Dan video it was a KIA Soul. Whole area is getting out of control

quote:

BEWARE:
My husband went to Shell at Jackson and mag to get me ice-cream just now. He was told by the cashier that a black car might follow him. The cashier said whoever is following people is outside of their cameras.
Sure enough, he was followed from Shell by what he thinks is an all black charger (rear view sucks, this is the best description he has). He turned right out of gas station, left on 1st, right on Annunciation, and then right on second-- which is where the mystery black car stopped following.
Hopefully this was nothing.

Watch the video and the Charger follows the Kia from out of the Shell/across the street.

I don't see the big deal. We wouldn't even be talking about this if it was a BIPOC that had been assaulted.

No-name BIPOC, probably wouldn't hit this site. Name-brand BIPOC, it would get traction.

I'd say someone like Morrow, but no one on this site frequents his businesses. Say? Toups, yeah, he would get a thread had this happened to him.

There was that black "chef" dude that nobody had really heard of, who went "missing" a few weeks ago and I think there was some chatter about it until it turned out he was just laying low for a few days.

Also, any carjacking on video like this one will get chatter, even if nobody knows the person involved - especially in a somewhat prominent location.

Hence, the point was dumb.

It's weird to use the pronouns "my" or "our" in reference to a place where you do not live, work, own a business, or own property. I've lived in many cities, but I think the people of Chicago and New York would find it odd if I referred to "our" crime problem or "my" subway since I no longer live in either of those places. It's not illogical.

The last time I went to Steins, I was waiting for my order and Dan got into a fussing match with a customer about a wrong order or something. With his often brusque attitude, it made me think that Seinfeld has the Soup Nazi and New Orleans has the Deli Nazi.

But I still love going there.

That’s a comparison often made about the general attitude there. But the food is delicious and it’s really sort of a schtick at this point. Dan has always been nice to me.
