Obviously lol, but the profession that I’m covers the metroplex as a whole.
Almost all of our big accounts are downtown as well.

Well no shite. It's been manslaughter from the start. You'd have to be a complete imbecile to think this was even close to murder.
Hmm...

Just spitballing here, but why does race even have to come in to play here? Did she shoot him BECAUSE he was black? Did she set out that day to find an innocent black man and kill him?
As a black poster, my observation has been that most posters have kept race out of it. A few have have brought it up.
When you have two separate races in an incident like this, it will always be brought up. I do agree that race was not a factor here.
I have no problem with her getting a guilty for murder. I do not think she was tired, I believe she was distracted because she was sexting. By her own testimony she was tired, but she still planned to go work out. I won't go down that rabbit hole of pointing out everything she did wrong, but she is responsible for the death of another human who was 100% innocent. She had numerous times to rectify the situation and failed at each one.

Watching all these interviews outside the courtoom are actually killing my vibe. How did this become a race issue and a win for the black community? I thought it was about a DPD officer killing an innocent man.
Wow.
Wow.

You can use that blanket statement for any person with a gun who actually fires it.
No you can’t
Hammered drunk shooting your gun celebrating the 4th of July and the bullet hits a bystander: I don’t see intent to kill
Aiming the gun at a man standing in his own apartment and pulling the trigger. I see intent to kill

It wont be upheld in Appeals court.
What is your theory of the case for appeal in error of law? If you are basing it on a theory of insufficient weight of evidence that is almost always a near-impossible task. Appeals courts are very reticent to overturn on insufficient weight since they did not actually see the presentation of evidence and transcripts are very poor pictures of that.

That's all that's left in Dallas now. Race baiters, race hustlers, WOKE SJWs and criminals. All the good citizens left for the suburbs.

I’m glad she was found guilty. You can’t kill a innocent man in his home and expect to get away with it. That whole story didn’t make sense to me and she is trash.

I see it as an extreme stretch of clause 2 in the Texas murder law.
Again, if appeals court finds in favor of it, than obviously there's enough evidence there to warrant it. I won't be upset about it either way. She shouldn't be free.

I know first hand, when I'm not on the job or "on duty" I'm just an average guy you wouldn't know from Adam. Yes, I usually have my service weapon, but lots of people carry guns. My demeanor and level of attention is entirely different, I "let my guard down" to put it simply. While we are trained pretty extensively, it's not like most people think and see in the movies. I don't have any special fighting skills, I don't have super focus ability, and I don't have some steely resolve that makes me incapable of fear. I'm a normal guy that can shoot a pistol at a paper target really well, gets to ride in airplanes sometimes for free, and can sit in a car for a long time. I'm DEFINITELY not infallible because I'm a Marshal. But the way some people in this thread think cops are all trained like TV show cops and aren't just regular people in a uniform bothers me. Just like regular people, there are shitty cops and great ones, assholes and caring ones, brave ones and cowards; she probably falls on the less complimentary side of those qualities. I'm not arguing for her freedom or absolution, I already said I think she's guilty and should get 10-12.
This is a very honest assessment of most in law enforcement. If this truly who you are, you seem like a really decent person and the kind of LEO I respect.
A sincere thank you for the work you do.

It was also a white officer killing an innocent black man. Unfortunately, this country has had a history of that resulting in a lack of justice. The race card is pulled way too often after justifiable discharges, but I can't blame some black people for feeling like they are on the losing end more often than they should be.
