Probably wasn’t enough space in the boat for social distancing.

They were vaccinated
They could have worn masks
They were outdoors

If they were taken to a shelter they could have socially distanced there along with wearing their masks

She put her husband in more danger by choosing to stay where emergency vehicles could not reach him if he needed help

I'm ok with this. If the family elects, by their own decision, to not get rescued, then so be it and move on to the next flooded family.

I understand the media will try to vilify those who are rescuing citizens, while they are sitting comfortably in their dry living rooms, but this is to be expected from today's "journalists".

Like most garbage "journalist" print today I suspect there are bits of truth in the article couple with a ton of hyperbole and editorializing by the author.

Stupidity has no bounds with some people.

ETA: Check out the dumb comments at the bottom of the article.

Why didn't they just go with her?

Debra then turned around and walked slowly back to her husband.

The couple waited several days for the waters to recede before evacuating to her other daughter's home.

This doesn't make any sense at all.

had done all they could to stay safe.

Except evacuate when there is a major storm coming; especially if the husband & pregnant wife are as vulnerable to illness as they allege.

May have missed something since I'm not giving them a click; but why didn't the husband wade through the water, instead of making his wife go through it twice (once alone)

First words of the article:

Debra McQueen is a woman of faith.

So vaxxed and spreading it to family is ok?

Or that her daughter was probably already around some of them in past. Surely the daughter had heard them talk before. Shouldn’t the mom have moved her out before?

What if they had a negative test the day or 2 before and would have been Tiger Stadium approved…

As they waited for the rescue boat to arrive, Debra overheard 10 or so tenants crowding the top floor to avoid the flooded apartments below complaining about the COVID-19 vaccine

So people were having to retreat to the top floor of a building to avoid rising flood waters and await rescue, and they took the time to have a discussion about the COVID vaccine?

I don't believe that.
