Case in point, Ford's Coyote 302ci V8 is heavier, wider, and taller than GMs LS7 427ci V8.

Man I don't know. Ive been in a few high revving v10s and v12's. Could they do it at 150 and 6000 RPM? yes. Could they do it at 200 and almost 8000 rpms for 500 miles straight? I don't want to be the guy paying the bill to find out. These engines are pretty high strung. At full tilt they are screaming. I also don't think these cars could handle the heat. Your average supercar is close to overheating in a normal 20 minute road race session.

Bugatti, and I assume other high end manufactures, stress test their engines before delivering vehicles.

yes that car is barely breathing at 124. At its max of 270 its a different story. It may be ok at 180-200. I was mainly thinking of a Aventador. I don't think it could handle 500 miles at wide open.

They stress test it for normal operating conditions, not flat out on a race track for several hours.

124 to these cars is just like going for a walk in the park. The engine isn't peaking at that point like it would in a race.

No they're not. On a road course on most supercars(standard Lambo/Ferrari/Aston Martin/Audi R8) the brakes and tires might be on the verge of being overheated.
Step it up to the more track oriented versions of those or go with the GT3 RS GT2 RS 675 LT 600 LT 720S AMG GTR Pro and they wouldn't break a sweat doing that much less be on the verge of overheating.

GM's/Lotus /Mercury Marine LT5 Endurance records were nothing short of mind blowing for an engine designed in the early/mid 1980's.

Lots of OT in this thread.
Place in the same race, 500 Mile, NASCAR would win. This is based off factory supercar vs. NASCAR. Pit road stops would be the deciding factor alone.
If you want to modify the supercar for faster pit stops, fine, but you are now tweaking the rules in their favor. At that point NASCAR should be allowed to take restrictions off horsepower and then the supercar will lose again. The engines can make more HP easily.
Supercars will fail at extended length at WOT. They are not designed to run at max speed for 500 miles. Their engines and other components will fail. This is why you can buy a Ferrari for $200,000, but a race built Ferrari is over $1 million. Supercars are not racecars. A Veyron will go through its tires at WOT in 15 minutes, the gas tank will be empty in 12 minutes.
NASCAR wins in a NASCAR race. NASCAR also would win a road course as well. It will once again come down to pit stop times and components. Supercar brakes will not last a full road course.

A lot of discussion about tires and fuel but one key ingredient from NASCAR is still missing. Bumping! I want to see a LaFerrari get tapped in the arse and pushed while going 200+ at Daytona. Let’s see how that Carbon fiber reacts.

WEC is adding a hypercar class in 2020/2021 and the powertrains must be based on units "destined for a series production car homologated for road use". If they'll do 24 hours at Le Mans or Daytona, they'll do a 500 mile race.

Some of y’all are assuming that supercars top speeds are way higher than a nascar car. Other than Bugatti, most are in the 210 range which is what stock cars do at Talladega nonstop.

That is 2 laps, now ramp it up to 200+ laps. That is a road course and the Mclaren could not win. It would be doomed in an all oval race.
You cannot take any modern supercar and even come close to surviving a complete race vs. race built NASCAR.
Your only chance is to get a hybrid hypercar ($1million+) and even then it would be less than a 50% chance and you would have to make some special rules that helps even the field.
You also need to understand NASCAR oval cars and road course cars are not the same really. Only specific supercars have the brakes that can handle a full road course race. You can take any road course NASCAR, but only a very small handful of supercars could survive a complete race.
Race built > all consumer built

Bingo. Sustained 200MPH+ laps. These cars are built for their fuel and tires to last as long as possible at that speed. Consumer built supercars are not.
