Thery have drive through testing now. That isn't testing only critical cases so not sure where your info is coming from? There is SO much misinformation out there.

not everywhere has this yet FWIW

I know 2 people in the last week that were told they probably had it but were not tested and just sent home to self quarantine because they only had mild symptoms and were not high risk

Just ordered one from Amazon that will be here Friday. Thanks for the suggestion. I have hard time sleeping because I wake up coughing. We take turns patting each other on the back to loosen things up. Works most of the time. I will keep you guys updated and it means a lot to come here and see the support you guys show me. Being stuck at home severely limits my reaction with people.

I wouldn’t try to tough things out if conditions worsen at all. Are you checking in with your doctor daily?

Reads as the test was designed to limit false positives, so the converse, false negatives woyld be expected.

Be aware we are still in the log growth phase so mortality tends to lag behind other metrics as cases don’t have a chance to resolve:

Esp. with this virus as many cases are taking 3 - 4+ weeks to resolve. SK is a good example as their nCFR dropped below 0.5% with expanded testing but it has slowly gone back up as cases start to resolve and SK is now at nCFR - 1.2%.

No. He told me just to stay inside the house at all times and call him if things get worse. If my cough doesn't get better by tomorrow or God forbid it gets worse I will call him.

China has apparently eradicated this thing somehow. Maybe they just shot everyone who tested positive?

I wondered that. Look at the recovery rates. Barely anyone has recovered in the US. And recoveries are still pretty low in Europe but not nearly as low as the US.

NY has like 5k confirmed and no cures.

Yeah but they've ended their lockdown and their workforce is getting back in action. I find it hard to believe they have no secondary wave.

Data, did you get a pulse oximiter (could have been another poster that we were encouraging to do so). And wonder if they could give you some of the good compounded cough meds?

Tried Mucinex?

God bless.

Reports are that factories have been re started to look like they are going back but aren’t really producing anything.

There aren't enough resources to track recoveries right now. Inexcusable but that's reality.

Believed to be fake.

Reports indicate that factory managers are being told by the government to keep lights and AC on and to falsify records showing people are back to work.

I don't think so. Two days ago, the US tested 34,654 people and had 5594 positive results. Yesterday, we tested 44,035 people and received only 4824 positive results.

I am not asserting that the actual number of new cases is actually going down -- the drop in total positives may just be statistical noise. But a 16% drop in positive cases in the face of a 27% increase in the number of people tested -- that is not at all consistent with exponential growth.

We should be encouraged that our efforts are working.

It seems like everyone on the internet either needs to believe that:

1) Overwhelming disaster is imminent, and we need to take stronger action, or
2) This is all overblown and a nothingburger, and we have to ease restrictions now to save the economy

I fall into neither camp. I think that our current restrictions are generally having the desired effect, and that we need to keep them in place for about a week after we can test 150,000 people per day, which will happen inside two weeks.

In other words, we need to keep fighting, because we're going to win. I think we have three more tough weeks ahead, and the bluer skies.
