I find it impossible to believe that China has no new cases of this thing. All it takes is for the virus to go to a new area and it’ll spread like wildfire. They have a lot of fessing up to do. The rest of the world is getting fed up.

Bonus points on having a humidifier while sleeping.

Just ordered one from Amazon that will be here Friday. Thanks for the suggestion. I have hard time sleeping because I wake up coughing. We take turns patting each other on the back to loosen things up. Works most of the time. I will keep you guys updated and it means a lot to come here and see the support you guys show me. Being stuck at home severely limits my reaction with people.

On the bright side you don’t have to worry about being well rested for your big day tomorrow.

They've been using that "miracle" drug Trump gets touting since late-January. A medical center in Wuhan filed a patent on it back on January 21.

So you believe the Chinese or not bro? Me personally, I don't buy it but I don't care either. Isn't affecting us one way or another regardless of what the report.

A couple of days ago, Japanese media had an opportunity to interview a doctor in Wuhan. The doctor claimed that numbers were being manipulated in preparation for Xi Jinping's visit on March 10:

Normally, I'd take this with a grain of salt. But the fact that statistical analysts were all ridiculing China's numbers for tracking a simple algorithm from January to mid-February gives this some credence.

China has no new cases reported, but have they tested anybody in the last week?

I'm skeptical but I'm not willing to 100% dismiss everything they're putting out. They do have a reputation and economy they want to maintain once this is over. They know they effed up and they know there are going to be a lot of pissed off people when this is over.

Well at least we finally got people to stop calling it just the flu.

Now I can switch the anti-marginalization argument to stairs.

US testing capacity continues to expand. The US has now completed approximately 200,000 test with 26,909 positives.

Louisiana has completed approximately 3,300 test with 763 positive.

Texas has completed approximately 6,500 test with 304 positives.

It's estimated that daily capacity will reach 100,000 some time next week.

Fair enough. At this point I am only interested in our numbers and of course I keep up with Italy just because it is such a sad state of affairs.

are hospitals going to continue to send mild cases away without confirmation of testing even with the expanded testing capacity?

Good question. At some point you would think they see the importance of doing as many tests as possible. 21 year old Johnny can be turned away only to go to work and infect co-workers and then go home and infect 80 year old grandma Mildred who later dies.

Surely they will start testing everyone. It would be nice if they could even start testing people for past infection to see if we have a herd immunity building. Testing is the only way to get control over this.

My guess is the only reason they are not making a big deal of testing now is to cover for the testing failure by CDC/FDA.

Why is the percent positive so low? We keep hearing they aren't testing except critical cases. Are we getting a high false negative on the tests?

They are rolling out more mass testing now. Drive through in Baton Rouge for instance.

Thery have drive through testing now. That isn't testing only critical cases so not sure where your info is coming from? There is SO much misinformation out there.
