I think Ohio is about to shut down.

Pretty sure Ohio "shut down" for 21 days.

Hopefully this research and the vaccines can help get us over this thing and get things back to normal relatively soon.

More research pointing to common vaccinations providing protection from SARS-CoV-2.

MMR evidence partly from scientists in Louisiana.

BCG vaccination evidence.

Back to where it all began. The original post has been edited, but referenced people dying in the streets of China.
This is a good Covid nostalgia thread.

The most prominent doctor who posts on this board predicted that it was unlikely anyone who posts here would even know someone who contracted the virus.

I was definitely wrong there.

I lost some money betting no more than 10k people would die from covid.

Donated to charity, so not really a loss.

The only thing I took from this thread is that we were all fricking retarded.

Korkstand was a voice of reason around Pg 740 or so.

He would later on reverse his position and be a looncricket.

It is a fair assumption that every single one of us did.

Granted, I’m not sure if I posted in this thread before or not, but pretty sure from day one my stance has always been, “I don’t give a shite”

I think there had been roughly 100 deaths in the US at the time. I didn't think we would approach 50k total.

I still feel like I'm reasonable. I don't think the government should mandate anything. I encourage personal responsibility, and it's a shame how much pushback I get for that on this site.

But yeah, I view this differently than I did at the very beginning. New information usually influences my opinions. Seems reasonable to me.

Most if not all the deaths are from elderly people with other underlying health issues.

The coronavirus is a common virus. This strand, the Wuhan coronavirus, is new, but it is not some plague type virus. Media sensationalism is driving the "lethality" of it, and nothing more. It's akin to pneumonia or a respiratory infection. That's about it.

I still stand by my statement that there will be under 100 deaths from this thing here in the United States.

I've said it before, if I never heard of Covid 19 and was told there was a really bad strain of the flu this year, I wouldn't have questioned it.
