It's says "limited" transportation options.

It’s a volume issue. After midnight, you shift from “evening” schedules to “late night” schedules, so there are fewer trains running. Usually not really an issue as people go out and come home at all hours. But if a large event unexpectedly lets out after midnight, you could end up with a situation in which people have to wait for multiple trains, all of which are arriving less frequently than they would have during an earlier time schedule.
holy shite the aftermath of the Wisky /LSU game in Houston,... BBengal had been missing since the 1st quarter ,,, showed up later with one shoe,, ,,rummy lost his sweater

The subways which were awesome 10–15 years ago are full of homeless and illegals. Very dangerous

They're certainly not as good as they were years ago, and yes, there are more homeless, etc., on them, but I don't know that I would go so far as to say that they're now "very dangerous".

It’s not the end of the world, but imagine how happy you would be waiting potentially for hours for a train during December in New York.

I'd say just chill with the big-arse rats, but those frickers are mean. I once saw one smoking a cigarette. When we made eye contact, he gave me the bird.

Is an uber or cab out of the question here? There’s other ways of transportation available.

A Google search tells me that the Barclays Center holds 19,000 people. Imagine that many people walking out of the arena and requesting a car.

Again, not impossible, but a clusterfrick that’s going to last hours and cost a significant amount of money in “surge” pricing.

Now, to be clear, this is a petty lawsuit. I doubt they actually care about damages and are really doing it to prove a point. But starting a large event like that so late that it ends after midnight is more than a minor inconvenience under the circumstances.

I mean this happens every weekend pretty much. Ive walked out of concerts in football stadiums and gotten an Uber. Yeah it’s hectic but it’s still very do able. That’s just part of going to a live event.

Trains only run so late. A concert letting out two or three hours late, you're not catching a train back to Jersey.

Sure, but not every live event is in areas as dense as NYC. There’s a reason there are multiple subway stations within walking distance of that venue. Getting that many cars on those dense city streets, and then back across the river, is a nightmare.

Mu wife went to her concert in NOLA and she started 3 hours late.

This is nothing new. I have never seen a concert headliner go on at the advertised start time. The warm up acts go on and have to be removed first. Been that way since I started going to concerts in the 70’s

Isn't it normal for rap shows to start late? I remember when Snoop played the Varsity a few years he was 3 or 4 hours late because he wanted to finish watching the Lakers game. People got pissed but no one sued.

I bet if promoters started putting in their contracts with these infantile, self-indulgent artists ( ), "you'll have your arse on stage within 10 minutes of the published event time or forfeit your pay" the level of narcissistic behavior would markedly drop.

I didn't read the story, so this may have been mentioned, but were there any opening acts that began playing at 8:30? If so, that's every concert ever.

Now, it's a different story if from 8:30 to 10:45 nothing was going on.

I worked with Japanese in Japan and they knew how late they could stay at work, a restaurant, etc because they knew when the last train ran.

You either get a late show, half a show, or no show with that a-hole.

Big deal.
Guns n Roses in Dallas, 1991, Axl started the show at 11:30 or so.
Opening act, Skid Row, had played 4 hours before...

An aging woman with insecurities getting off on making idiots wait two hours because it’s all she has in her life and because it makes her feel better about herself.
