Mitch has less of a chance than Bobby J had with a federal office. He's a fcking idiot and the rest of the dems in the country will want nothing to do with him,

Is that a common occurrence in that neighborhood?

Yeah. In the past 3 weeks or so there has been a rash of armed robberies between Felicity/Washington/St Charles/magazine. Some really brazen stuff--7:30 pm on Philip between prytania and camp, etc. Right next to $1MM houses. I live in the neighborhood and keep my head on a swivel taking the dog out at night. It's not cool.

The response time of the police is completely unfricking acceptable. I know a woman that was involved in an automobile accident this morning due to someone else's failure to yield. The accident occurred at 7:50 AM and the police arrived at the scene at 10:45 AM after numerous calls. The vehicle at fault was already towed from the scene when the officer arrived. The female NOPD officer made the tow truck return so she could write her report. All the while, the innocent woman that had her two month old vehicle damaged was not able to leave the scene until noon. Four hours for a traffic accident is completely unacceptable for public safety.

The point here is that the PD is extremely understaffed. The criminals are not scared of the repercussions of their actions by any means. The conviction rate is at an all-time low and the fact that hundreds of police manhours were used for statue demolition should be punishable to the fullest extent of the law. The place is a complete shitshow.

I'm pretty sure tLSU posted a while back about whole districts having only one or two cars on patrol. That and how they are systematically downgrading crimes. The extent of how bad it really is in NOLA needs to be uncovered.

I wish a giant bag of dicks on Mitch Landrieu for him to spend the rest of his days choking upon.

Mayor Landry?
LaToya Cantrell?
Black Caucas?
City Council?

Anyone care to address this?

This. I bought a pistol, I meet my wife in the driveway, and we're looking to move somewhere else as soon as we can. I've had enough. Deciding to move is the saddest and most depressing decision I've ever made. Thanks Mitch. From the bottom of my heart, frick you.

I have too, it's on my running route and in a great part of the city. That's what's concerning about the bullshite lately.

Although crime can happen anywhere in NOLA, Washington Ave. is not known to be a real safe street. They've had like 4-5 reported crimes on Washington just in the last 4 or 5 days. You've just been fortunate. It's odd that Commander's Palace sits on that street, but then again, it has been there since the late 1800s before a certain segment of the population started acting like it's the Wild Wild West.

You realize all of Washington Ave isn't all the same right? Same with Jackson, same with Toladano, etc

Long police response times are nothing new. Four years ago it took the NOPD 8 hours to show up to my house to write a report when I found my Tahoe on cinderblocks. I also called them 4 separate times throughout the day

I've wondered why this doesn't happen more often

To be more specific....

ALL the commander's employees leave the restaurant in their damn uniform, with their damn APRON still on.

Many live close to the restaurant and walk home, many walk to the Washington / St. Charles street car stop.

If I'm in to robbing people, what do I see?

I see a waiter, fresh off of a busy night shift at a popular restaurant, with loads of cash from tips in his apron, walking through a part of town with NO lighting, and NO regular police presence

Would be ridiculously easy
