B. Descendants of slaves
C. Males that could be mistaken as sons of Obama
D. All of the above

I love New Orleans like no other city. When I came down for Mardi Gras, I felt like I was home. But god damn, it's just so fricked up over there.

On top of that, I'm with an incredibly well paying company in my field, that will keep me working, as long as I'm willing to travel. But I just entered my mid 30s, and I don't want that lifestyle. I miss playing in bands, second lines, and Indian tribes.

But I also enjoy the feeling of safety. But it's safety with it if you feel like you're not living life? I guess you can say I'm having an existential crisis.

Not trying to pick sides here, just weighing in.

We lived uptown for seven years starting in '09 (Prytania Theater area & then Upperline/Coliseum area). Tiny condo, but what a perfect dining/walking scene...3 blocks from streetcar, 3 blocks from Magazine. Conveniently for us, it was time to go in May '16...had a buddy mugged three weeks prior just steps from Kingpin.

It's still a wonderful area but the housing market is incredibly over-saturated with sellers with buyers second-guessing the future of what will happen.

It did scare me a bit that the new 2nd district station won't be at Napoleon/Magazine but a 10-minute drive from that area from Gert Town. Granted, it's closer to the higher crime areas which will help out, but what if the LGD/Commanders knuckleheads move upriver? Longer response time, which isn't exactly NOPD's strong-suit.

Uptown was a treasure a few years ago...but I fear for the future.

Side note: Saffron is gonna kill it in that Shaya/La Petite block...worth the robbery risk

if you're walking around in New Orleans and you look like you've got more than $4.00 and a half pack of cigarettes in your pocket, you're really asking for it.

I think we just found the new tourism board slogan

I wonder if it would draw any real national attention and negative views on Mitch if someone did in fact rent a huge billboard for a month and put this as Nola's new slogan?

The OT should do its work. Someone start a go fund me to pay for it.

I just purposefully chose to take a trip elsewhere, though. Not worth it.

Im deciding the same. It's just not worth the risk. It was fun, we used to go twice a year, but I can have fun other places too.
