And that's a bigger problem today than it has ever been. By time it gets to street level, you have no idea what all was put in it. People are going to do coke. As long as its available, whether its legal or illegal people are going to do it. So if people will still do it, who benefits from it being illegal?

You’d think we’d have learned that after prohibition and the war on drugs. Drug prohibition doesn’t work. People will always do drugs. Better to legalize it, monitor its production to ensure quality, and tax it.

Drug prohibition is why the cartels exist and are as big as they are

Good cocaine.

Not the shite that’s stomped on several times before you buy it off the guy on the street corner.

Pure cocaine is so vastly different than the stuff Americans snort.

The really pure stuff, or so I've heard, hits you completely differently. You don't feel as manic, don't have as bad of an issue going to sleep after a while, don't have as much nasal irritation, don't wake up feeling as shitty, etc.

Or so I've heard. While I was in Colombia on a bachelor party. That is where I heard this.

ETA:

Still worse for you than alcohol FTR.

True. It is a totally different experience. I did it a few times. Uncut straight off of the airplane. Given to me by the pilot that flew to Colombia to get it. They eventually caught him. 80’s.

He had some stories.

Well that's not true at all. The mafia thrived into the 90s.

In niche industries and locations. With the legalization of alcohol, the mob stopped being relevant to the vast majority of Americans. With the continued legalization of of gambling, the mob basically disappeared a few decades later, but it became irrelevant to the average person long before then.

Also, weird how the only way the mob exists is if "vices" that have existed for all of human history are made illegal. Shame we can't seem to learn lessons from that...

You can have a scotch at a funeral and it's classy, but getting caught doing a key bump is pretty trashy. Just saying.

There's a couple college buddies of mine that I think might get the ole Colombian salute at their funerals.

Someone detoxing off of benzos might strongly disagree.

I've been saying forever to just legalize it all within the US, but I'm good with this as well.

I need a cocain store and a steady cheap supply to investigate myself.

I've only had it a handful of times. But those handful of times were awesome. I don't recall searching out more or feeling like I had to have it.

Alcohol everyday lead to the worst decade of my life.

I agree clean coke has little side effects. It's the cut that gets you
Cocainec is still used in clinical settings too.

, if told "alright, you're about the get into a vehicle being driven by someone. You choose whether they are either hopped up on coke (pure, no other drugs or adulterants) or drunk from alcohol" and I think the overwhelming majority of people would choose the driver on coke.

Absolutely not.

After a half a bottle of high proof, I'm not going to talk your ear off, nor am I likely to jump the levee because I think we can make it to water.

From a very young age, we always peer pressured each other into handling our shite when drinking. Being drunk was perfectly fine, being sloppy was ridiculed.

Worst case scenario for anyone I know after a decent amount of whiskey is we arrive wherever we are going later than expected. Worst case scrnario for anyone I know who does coke is we get into an argument with an oak tree at 100 mph.
