Clueless Gen Z paying up to £1,300 for household tasks like changing light bulbs

Gen Z are paying up to £1,300 a year for others to do household tasks like changing light bulbs, new research suggests.
A quarter of Gen Z adults – aged 18 to 27 – said they would not change a light bulb themselves because using a stepladder could be dangerous, while one in five fear the bulb could be “too hot”.
Almost half of the 2,012 Gen Z adults surveyed told researchers they did not know how to add air to a car tyre. More than one in five confessed they would have to get a mechanic to do it, while the same percentage would instead ask a parent to do it for them.
The survey found 21 per cent of those classified as being Gen Z, and 22 per cent of Millennials, who are aged 28 to 43 years old, admitted they would call in a professional to change the bulb on a ceiling light in their home. Similar numbers – 22 per cent of Gen Z and 19 per cent of Millennials – would beg a parent to do it.
When asked why they could not change a simple ceiling light bulb, a quarter of Gen Z adults worried it would be “too hot”.
Two thirds of Millennials said it was because they would “not want to mess around with electrics”.
A fifth of both age groups claimed it was because it “could be dangerous to use a ladder”.
Meanwhile, 11 per cent of Gen Z adults would call in a professional to hang a picture frame.

So how many does it take to screw in the light bulb?

How do these people’s parents find the time to do this stuff in between going to their kids’ job interviews?

Sorry but I don’t believe most of these articles. I’m gen x but work with many gen z and most of the younger guys I work with are no different than we were at their age, fixing trucks, hunting, etc. I also don’t blame every problem we have on boomers

I paid a Mexican $100.00 to hang a TV on the wall then scratched my head thinking I could have done it myself.
It took him less than 10 minutes.
of course everything I try to do ends up being a shite storm, cost three times as much and looks like crap when I'm done.

A good friend of mine makes a great living as a handy man. He does a lot of stuff like this.

I'll change a lightbulb or a fixture/ceiling fan but I understand this. I don't frick around with electricity.

Is this one of those articles based on one tweet from a Russian bot?

Halfords is a tire and lube shop that also sells bicycles. That would be like trusting a survey done by Take 5 Oil Change.

We really need to have universal conscription in this country.

10 bucks says the vast majority of those surveyed who said they'd call someone to change the bulb live in an apartment where stuff like changing ceiling bulbs is included in the rent.
