Wth is the 100million for? Certainly not just that gold course redesign?
My country club is building one of the nicest practice facilities in the south, 5 new large putting greens, numerous bunkers, remodeling the tennis shack, tearing up the tennis courts to expand the size... for 400K.
Wild SPring Dunes, which is going to be one of the nicest golf courses in the country and sits on 2400 acres is being built right now and it's estimated to be 250 million.
That little redesign is supposed to cost 100 million?

I’m on board with the genesis of McMakins plan and its costs as in…
They’ve waisted millions on parks in areas that don’t deserve or need the upgrades eg; the fricking zoo. This won’t require additional funding from my understanding and could be a destination park for the city that people will actually use

I'm pretty sure the $100M total includes BREC's part of the University Lakes project too. Creating one "district".

Watch it now, they will accuse you of being against parks and kids.
That’s what they did regarding our libraries. If you wanted s tax for lesser millages they said you were against books.
EBR has numerous issues that haven’t been addressed because of lack of funds, but BREC and the Library Board have more than they need.

Original plan was to turn a pedestrian park with a fun course to play into a pedestrian concrete "park"

Well it was more just emphasizing that 400K can get you a lot and probably equal to what redesigning a couple holes on a par 3 course entails. 100 million could get you the land and an 18 hole golf course built. 100 million for that makes zero sense other than LA politics getting involved and a lot of cash in some pockets.

the ridiculous price tag aside, you'd be entrusting this to the same firm that lowered the lakes a couple feet, built some mudflats and called that improving the lakes.

Make it a top notch 9 hole Par 3 course. Could really be something special. Include on the perimeter some bike/walk paths with landscaping.

We need more yardage in Baton Rouge, not less, especially with LSU now closed. The students are going to really stress Webb and City Park this year as it is.
Also, any walking and bike paths for pedestrian use would need to be far enough away from the course, unless you like all the golfers waiting for pedestrians to pass on every shot.
