Just don't eat the fermented shark that they offer you.

Trick is 5 chews and swallow. Any more and the ammonia and sweaty sock taste hits you. It's not that bad as long as you don't chew it too long.

Eta: I thought the food was great. Lamb stew, fish soup, and the rye bread with every meal.

Was in a fraternity with a guy named Eythor (we called him Thor) at UAH.

Cool dude, super super smart. He brought us fermented shark and other things to try, told us about the trolls, etc.

On the initiation trip he had to hold a green poster board the whole weekend that was his green card and flash it to the "INS", which was anyone that drove a white car.

That’s because Iceland has millions of volcanic tubes and tunnels and caves …that are full of troll and gnome like creatures. My least favorite of the others

The volcano will undoubtedly send the tube trolls running though the country side.

Iceland is Nordic, not Scandinavian

Scandinavia is Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.

The Nordic countries are Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden

double down even though you’re wrong, classic.

As in, yes you pulled that from Wikipedia just now about the Nordic countries because you needed to bolster your shite argument.

But you’re still wrong based on the common English usage of the term, the commonalities between the peoples, etc.

Wiki

quote:

Scandinavia is a subregion of Northern Europe, with strong historical, cultural, and linguistic ties between its constituent peoples. Scandinavia most commonly refers to Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. It can sometimes also refer more narrowly to the Scandinavian Peninsula (which excludes Denmark but includes a part of northern Finland)

Brttainica

quote:

Scandinavia, part of northern Europe, generally held to consist of the two countries of the Scandinavian Peninsula, Norway and Sweden, with the addition of Denmark.

The Difference in Scandinavian and Nordic Countries

quote:

In short, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark are all Nordic countries with Scandinavian roots, but typically, you will only find Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish people referring to themselves as Scandinavian.

The Modern Dane: The Difference in Scandinavian and Nordic Interior Design

quote:

The Scandinavian Peninsula is a mountainous region extending from the Barents Sea in the north to the Baltic Sea in the south. Geographically, this includes only Norway and Sweden—but the history of Denmark is so closely tied to the other two countries that it is considered a part of Scandinavia in almost every sense. In fact, the name Scandinavia comes from the region of Scania, which was once part of Denmark but is now the southern Swedish region of Skåne. In most cases, therefore, Scandinavia refers to Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

Nordic, on the other hand, is a much more inclusive term. It comes from the French word nordique, meaning north, and comprises several northern European countries: the three Scandinavian countries of Sweden, Norway, and Denmark, plus Finland and Iceland. In addition, three autonomous territories are included under the Nordic umbrella: the Faroe Islands and Greenland (both part of the Kingdom of Denmark) and Åland, a Swedish-speaking autonomous region of Finland. The term Norden can also be used in place of Nordic.

quote:

Quite simply, Scandinavian design refers to design from Norway, Sweden, and Denmark, whereas Nordic design refers to design from both Scandinavia and those other territories grouped under the Nordic label. It’s that simple!
