The Yule cat (Icelandic: Jólakötturinn, IPA: ['jou?la?k?œht?r?n], also called Jólaköttur and Christmas cat[1]) is a huge and vicious cat from Icelandic Christmas folklore that is said to lurk in the snowy countryside during the Christmas season and eat people who do not receive new clothing before Christmas Eve. In other versions of the story, the cat just eats the food of people without new clothes. Jólakötturinn is closely associated with other figures from Icelandic folklore, considered the pet of the ogress Grýla and her sons, the Yule Lads.

Many people in Iceland believe in elves and trolls. Seriously.

Wait until the kids hear of Belsnickel.

I flew Iceland air once - I was the only non-blonde on the flight - some big Viking dude tried to help me put my carry on up in the compartment- but he picked me up as well
the stewardesses were beautiful

I… I don’t think Coyote would’ve appreciated that.

Are you implying Iceland doesn’t share cultural roots/affinities with the primary Scandinavian countries?

The Yule log
Not that I have a log. I mean if I had a log. Not in the sense that you think I said I did.

We did cold weather training in the region a couple of times, mostly Norway. Don't care for the food much and both Fort McCoy, Wi and Bridgeport, Ca were much colder.

Have you seen a lot of the food they eat? Nothing is scarier than that.

Slightly scarier is the Christmas Volcano- Fagradalsfjall

Iceland is a fantastic country. I wish I could live there. Just don't eat the fermented shark that they offer you.

The Icelandics aren't pussies, that's for sure.
