traditionally it was always black friday for the guys to hang the lights and outside decorations while the girls went shopping. family decorated the tree together that night.
if there was bad weather we might do the lights and outside decorations a day earlier or later

and the follow up question, it all gets taken down on new years day

This year is gonna be a blowout Christmas to remember at our house. Our little girl that we adopted 2 years ago is 4 now and this will be the first Christmas where she is fully aware of what all is going on, plus we took in a foster brother and sister age 7 and 9 earlier this year, this will be probably their first good family christmas in their lives and we're going all out spare no expense .

At midnight last night I took Halloween down and put Christmas up.
Is that wrong?

Baton Rouge General put up the frames for their big trees already, so not too early, IMO.

For some strange reason before seeing this post, I was thinking of putting my icicle lights out this weekend.
So, I guess the consensus is to wait.

Usually on black Friday but we are going on vacation this year during that week into the first week of December. I may start pulling shite out this weekend so I don't have to listen to my Christmas obsessed wife...undecided

outside lights and decor goes up the weekend before Thanksgiving. If we're going out of town for thanksgiving, inside goes up the weekend before too. This year we're staying home, and putting up inside Thanksgiving weekend.
My wife and I actually like decorating for Christmas.
