re: What’s the most pain you ever felt?
Posted by Techdog89 on 12/19/25 at 8:57 am to LSUTANGERINE
Chest tubes post op triple bypass surgery
Gall stones the size of quarters
Sciatic nerve pain from waist to ankle
Those chest tubes hurt the worst and once pulled out, instantly the pain was gone. Like a light switch.
Gall stones hurt so bad radiating through my back the ER doctor thought I was having a heart attack.
Sciatic nerve from herniated discs gave immense burning pains
Getting old is not for sissies!

Prayers for the Faulk family. Just a devastating loss. May God comfort them and heal their pain.

Also, since when do we support forcing private businesses to serve everyone?
Thank you for posting! Psalm 103 is a beautiful song of David giving praise to God and reminding us that God is always there watching over His people. If you want to encourage someone going through tough times, have them pray and read all of 103. It is so uplifting. Thank you so much for posting! Praise Jesus!

Best advice ever given on this board. God bless you, your wife, and your entire family.

You and your wife are incredible people.

quote:Yeah, It's hard to talk about still today. The younger died from poor decisions experimenting with drugs/alcohol and aspirated in 2011. Just a senseless death at 26. She left three daughters (4, 6, 7). We've raised all three and thanks to God they are all doing well, ages (19, 21, 22). We lost the older daughter from cancer complications at age 39 about 4 years ago. My wife is the toughest woman to bear this and raise our granddaughters. We have four other grandchildren from the older daughter. They are doing ok for the most part. Two working, two with their dads. No other kids for me and my wife. If you're not saved, get to know our Savior Jesus. It's only been possible to do all of this over these years with Him. He has been our comforter, provider and healer. Thanks for your comments!
Man. I'm sorry to hear this... That's terrible. Prayers for you.

re: 43 years ago today - One of the best nights ever in Tiger Stadium

I was there, fall semester my freshman year. Still have my "pass out" ticket that allowed you to leave the stadium and return during the game. Of course, we NEVER went out and came back with more liquor! This was the craziest game I've ever been to. The fog, the oranges, Mike and Chief Osceola. It was fantastic! Drank screwdrivers all day! The student section was rocking, and we threw all the oranges we had!

May God bless them, just your worst nightmare to bury your child. Been there twice. My heart goes out to them.

quote:I'm referring to all of the legal issues of who was at fault, who wasn't, etc., related to the wreck. I'm separating that from the loss of a former Tiger whether self inflicted or not. I'm just addressing his death.
What will?
If LSU was going to honor him, they really should have had a #2 decal on the back of their helmets for the season. Also, his number on the field for the first home game along with recognition of a fallen teammate or former player from the announcer pregame or halftime of the first game. This would have been a nice touch for the family and fans of Lacy. Now it will look contrived and not genuine. No need to inject guilty, not guilty, wrongfully charged or any of this. LSU wasn't responsible for his actions or those of the police. All of that will work itself out in the courts. RIP young man, thank you for the memorable plays. Prayers for your family. Always a Tiger!
Prayers for Kolton and all of your family!

quote:I agree, and I've seen two of my family members breath their last breaths. Thankfully both were saved and professed it daily. There's comfort in knowing they are where all true believers want to be. This life we have is temporary, short (compared to eternity) and is so precious a gift. We, as a culture, don't place enough value on life or the protection of it.
It's one of the things that developed me deeper into my faith as I got older. When I saw death, the soul was no longer a theoretical idea, but it became tangible.
quote:Grand-daughters, nice try though. I think there's an exemption in there somewhere....
. Pics of daughters?

The grief is real and debilitating. My wife and I experienced the loss of her two daughters at age 26 and at age 39. Both of my stepdaughters died at different times for different reasons. We raised the younger one's three small girls. All I can say is that without our faith in Jesus, I don't know how my wife would have made it. And to turn around and raise three young little girls who all favor their mom, was really hard. The youngest was in first grade when we got them and just graduated in May. She's the kindest, sweetest, most selfless and toughest woman I know. I am blessed to have her as my wife, no pics we're older!

quote:You've got alot on your plate right now dealing with two more older dogs. I thought she might be your only one. You're right, when you really care for animals it always hurts when they go. But, most animals won't outlive us and we know that going in. You just have to give all the love you have and enjoy all the love they give. It's just not forever, sadly. My hope is that in my idea of Heaven all of my past dogs will be there waiting for me along with all the people I love that have gone before me. God bless you as you deal with the greif!
'm sure we'll get there eventually, because we both love dogs, but this has been absolutely brutal. We have two more dogs that are both around ten years old and I have no idea how I can do this again two more times. I'm already in it with them and I'm going to have to let them go one day but i have no idea how I can do this again. Maybe you get better at dealing with grief once you've done it before and I know it's still really fresh, but it's hard to even imagine doing this again.
On the other hand, I don't want to be so afraid of the pain of the end that I miss out on the love of today and it's an ugly fact of life that everything/everyone is going away eventually. We can't just hide from the whole world. Idk, I'm sort of word vomiting but it's a lot to process.
How many times does it need to be said? Elections have consequences.

God bless you, I'm sure she had a wonderful home for her whole life. I've had to put three down over my lifetime for various terminal issues and I remember the first one like it was yesterday, and it's never an easy thing to do. They become our family and give unconditional love back. Just remember there are "rescue" dogs out there that need your loving home. A new puppy doesn't replace the old one, you just gain a new family member and a new set of memories. As soon as you're able, give another pup a chance at the same life. It will help you heal and probably save a pup's life. Best wishes to you!
