From what I have read they peaked last year but the population isn't projected to be halved until 2100.
Even removing the one child policy hasn't increased their birthrate.

Mushbrain washing them away, has given them life.
China was buying their debt at record paces, but got a lifeline with this administration.

Home ownership is apparently the new status symbol in the wealthier areas. To afford, they were buying homes in newly developed areas. The developers used the cash to buy more land rather than build but were using the "sold homes" as assets on balance sheets and lending documents. They are very close to collapse. The only problem will be if they go down , we all go down.
They also have a tremendous demographic problem and they are really over leveraged worldwide. Their Belt and Road Initiative was always set up for countries to default on loans so that the Chineae could take control. They also forced the use of Chinese banking, Chinese workers, materials etc. It was great for a while. But eventually their is still money tied up with it and all the loans are in tremendously unstable parts of the world. They have been playing the long game and world politicians have helped them with their "developing country" status. That's why they made such gains. But their isn't room for error in a centrally planned economy and modern times make it harder for control. Four more years of Trump would have had them completely bending the knee because he pressured them. Or at least close to it. Regardless of political party, executive attitude od Trump's toward China for 20 years would easily flip their table.
Our politicians sold us away thirty years ago. We are all fricked. We will likely bounce back. They may not.

I'm assuming they are structurally compromised?
This is my understanding of it. The buildings weren't built to code and were unsafe. Considering China's code aren't very high, these buildings must've been in very bad shape. This demolition occurred last year.

Seems like a waste of good explosives. They should have waited 10 more years for them to fall on their own.

And I should care why???? As we both type this on on our Chinese equipment. Help me understand why this is news?
Well for one, when the chinese economy collapses the entire world is fricked. They are the production hub for everything.
Remember all the supply chain disruptions during COVID? Imagine if those supply chains aren’t just delayed but totally evaporate.
I want to see the Chicoms eat shite but it’s going to be way more painful than anyone could imagine because we have allowed ourselves to be totally dependent on them.

Their demographics are also the worst in the world. Their population has already peaked. Right now they are disproportionately old. In 2030 they will have more people retired than still working.

Just on Demographics alone, they are screwed. Just cant create a generation overnight.

Very real. And to top it all off, Xi the leader of the CCP, has now been surrounded by "Yes" men. Everyone else is scared to be the messenger. Everyone who knows history knows how this is going to end. A Chinese War of conquest, or an internal rebellion.
Keep an eye on India...

By stealing our intellectual property and having Chinese spies all across our government, industries, and universities.
