COVID is racist, so if you have it, bundled.

The most likely reason is that the 30+ year old manager had sex with several 19 year old waitresses after selling them weed and they all contracted Covid.

The question is...did you congratulate him?

Is this the new “closed for remodeling”?

This location is only 4 or 5 years old. I don't see this as being the case here

I think he may be referring to how Walk On's "closed for remodeling" during the Bayou Classic one year.

Well, we know they didn't go to a protest. It's impossible to get Covid from a protest.

[quote]How do you do that? Charge $20 for a glass of Remy Martin or something?

I had a friend who worked there and she told me they took many of the fruity alcoholic drinks (watermelon, peach, etc.) off the menu. Maybe that was the goal but as icansee said.. it hasn’t helped

While Walkons is applicable, I’m thinking more of in the oil bust of the 80s.

Tons of restaurants in BR “closed for remodeling”. Some opened back up as other restaurants while others were abandoned for years or bulldozed.

A lot of restaurants will be doing this now that Phase 2 is extended.

They were rolling the dice and taking the losses anticipating Phase 3.

Every place is going to have positives because most of us are going to get this virus. We just need to accept it and move on. Mitigation measures are only mitigating our wallets and economic success

Chimes East. Home of the samplers.

Went to Chines East a while back and one of us started with gumbo. Waitress asked them if they had it there before. Next few people order and they each started with soup and gumbo as well. Each time, waitress asked if they had it there before.

We asked what was up and she said they’re required to ask that because too many people order the gumbo/soup and then claim they don’t like it. So they were giving so much of it away.

She said if you say you haven’t had it there, she brings a small sample first.

Can't turn a profit on partial occupancy. Not surprised, but I hope they survive this.

I don’t really think it’s the 50% thing doing the damage as much as just less people going out.

I’ve gone to restaurants several times a week for the past month or two, and very few of them look all that different. Especially the larger ones. But I’m sure their usual peak nights are down simply due to less people going out.
