The jokes on you. Chatgpt can't prescribe the meds. Back to the cardiologist you go.

I don't know about ChatGPT, but why wouldn't AI be better than your doctor once it knows every recorded case of every disease and disfunction,

Because ChatGPT only knows what is put into it

Youre going to trust that transcriber didnt botch a line, patient code, or test results?

Because that effects what AI spits out, in every future diagnosis

You’re already full of shite on sentence 2. Vasovagal syncope is most common kind. So how does your Dr ChatGPT plan to treat?

Everyone is now responsible for their own health, you will always just be a customer in the medical industrial complex, it’s just the way it is now. Eat healthy, exercise, and monitor your own body as much as possible. Nobody really gives a shite about any of us, outside of family and friends, if you’re fortunate enough to have any.

I can't even get accurate and reliable sports statistic information from ChatGPT and OP is relying on it for detailed medical diagnosis and treatment? I gotta say.....not a smart idea.

Ha. Yep.

Don’t get me wrong, I use it. As one tool among many and in very targeted ways. Also, knowing how unreliable it is for legal analysis makes it an interesting tool. It will actually spot issues well and then get the answer wrong (and with great confidence). So it helps me with analyzing the law and making sound arguments.

AI is good at diagnosis.

My girlfriend asked it for information on the best time to vacation in Portugal, and in five seconds it told her that she had chlamydia. How did it know?

I agree.

It helps you avoid the doctor sending you to take meaningless tests just to do it then you get a nice bill.

I’m tired of these pricks having friends in other areas “refer” me. I’ve seen it too much and doctors have become salesmen and it’s about to stop.

AI is going to relieve some of that.

77 years old, polio survivor, started fainting several times a day , last month. Urgent visit with cardiologist included mri where she fainted in front of doc. Additional testing ordered for a 14 day continuous heart monitor. That concluded 2 weeks ago with no report. Followup office visit not followed through by doc. No communication. This morning I tried Chatgpt and what a wonderful analysis tool. I described her background, and symptoms . And in a few minutes receive an on topic description of the malady, Vasovagal Syncope, contributing factors, meds to consider adjusting, daily hydration techniques, exercise program and check sheets tailored to a paraplegic. Everything I need to work with a general practitioner. The medical world has changed. Maintenance health worked through Pompus Specialists will go the way of fat sam. Bring your chatgpt info to the discussion

Vasovagal syncope is more of a diagnosis come to AFTER excluding other more SERIOUS maladies.

But by all means, use Chat GPT first, and skip the MD.

Sounds like the doc is terrible and you should find a new one.

Your quick description doesn’t sound like vasovagal syncope.

Good luck though.

What do you think the doc and nurse are doing when they play 20 questions with you at the start of the visit

They are typing it all in for their fancy software to come up with the next treatment options and what will likely get past your insurance.

I'm not talking about Chat GPT, I'm talking about when AI is designed specifically for this purpose and can access a database with all recorded data on every illness and injury in milliseconds.

It will be doing the exact thing 99.9% of doctors do now, but far more comprehensively, faster and at a much lower cost.

The future of LLMs will absolutely be certifications in specific fields and they will be better than experts in those fields today. We just aren’t there yet today. Do find ChatGPT to be a very useful tool for quick feedback.

Huh?

So yall showed up for the follow up visit at the Dr office and just sat there without seeing the doctor? How was it "not followed through by doc"?

Also, currently ai platform replies are rated/trained by a handful of specialty companies. They are rating responses on if the generated ai response sounds helpful or useful, even if it is completely false.

My understanding is these rating companies pay their response raters as much as $15 per hour. Not sure how that correlates to sound medical advice.
