Its not just l. Its like some mass alert went out every POS out there to go start pulling on door handles of cars
People need to start taking their guns out of their vehicles every day and bring them inside. This is predominantly what they take.

Easy targets. Lots of stupid people leaving bags and guns in their cars
i'm amazed at the idiots who leave their guns in their cars/trunks and continue to arm thugs and criminals.
You see them on tv in utter disbelief. I parked my car right across from the ghetto, and when parking, put all my guns into a locked case in the trunk, and now all 7 are gone. Wha happened?????????
Rednecks, arming the inner city communities daily.

Yep. People need to keep that in mind if you happen to break up their party. Even if they didn't show up armed with a gun- they may have acquired one, down the street- they likely did, based on the recent reports. Be cautious as frick.
I really wish there could be a smart, yet organized effort to stop these pieces of crap. Let's face it- while they do as great a job as possible, our police and deputies are undermanned, in the outer areas. They just can't cover everything.

couldn't agree more.
But if they insist on leaving it in the vehicle, LOCK THE DAMN VEHICLE.
I agree with Fin, there needs to be some sort of penalty for leaving a firearm in an unlocked vehicle. Call it a stupid tax.

Also, a locked case doesn't mean it's secured you farking idiots.
Having some sort of safe built into the trunk, which cannot be removed w/o a blow torch, is secure. not a fricking case laying in the back with a lock. LOL
Not sure who's dumber the inner city dwellers or the ones being robbed of their guns

It's not just Central, it's Denham, Watson, and Walker as well. It's an epidemic, but something as simple as making sure your car is locked can stop it from happening to you. I caught one on camera pulling on my truck door but his face was covered. Girl down the street got her purse stolen, but her car was unlocked. They do not appear to be breaking windows, just pulling handles. Hoping some baw camps out in his truck one night and right when the door gets opened, BOOM.

People will just stop reporting them as stolen, and things will get even worse.
This is the road to mandatory rules about firearms storage in your home, as well. I don't think we want to go there. But I'm just one guy with an opinion.
I have never been a victim of this, and take care of my gear, religiously. People need to make doing this a priority. But personal responsibility isn't something the locals can force on someone- they have to do it themselves.

Central has definitely gone downhill over the last several years and certainly since the flood. Glad we're getting out of Central and Louisiana all together in 2 weeks

the OT is almost giving justification to a criminal having the right to steal based on whether you locked your car door or not.
They are trespassing from the start. Let’s not forget that. And when everyone all locks their doors as being the norm, what’s next ? I have to put all outdoor equipment in a locked shed or that’s my fault/ I deserved it?
bullshite ....

Easy fix. If it's not December-Feb and you are walking the streets of a neighborhood after midnight in a hoodie it is legal to shoot you, no questions asked.

If you park outside and have a garage it’s your fault. Quit being a hoarder and park inside.
Posted on 7/19/18 at 10:07 am to oleheat
Don’t leave anything of value in the car.

No, it's not. Because just the other day, someone was trying front door handles on homes in Morgan Place West. Where should we draw the lines- requiring all homes to have a moat and drawbridge?
The blame should go towards the upright cockroaches doing criminal behavior. Frankly, I don't care if we starting chopping off their hands. Screw them.

Well that is the ONLY way to "Get out of it" is to completely leave the Baton Rouge Area and probably the state!

I don’t lock my Jeep doors. I have a soft top. I locked my doors and some thug took a knife to my window THAT HAS A frickING ZIPPER.
I’d rather them just open my door to see there’s nothing inside than slice my window open and have to pay for a new top.

Down here we've seen a big spike as well. Lakeview and the lakefront area had something like 27 cars get broken into last weekend.
Our neighborhood has started putting signs on many corners telling people to lock their cars.
The one that pisses me off the most are the two black guys riding around steeling crap off of and out of the lawn cutting trucks as well as off of people's porches in the area.

This is the reason I would rather live in a gated neighborhood. The trash have a much more difficult time getting in, and probably won’t try to

Frick that. Should I have to keep my house doors locked at all times too? You're walking on thin ice with our rights when you go there. I'm a responsible adult. It is not my responsibility to change my behaviors because of criminals.
