Capital One customer support. I ain't even mad. I'm actually impressed at the absurdity.

Tried to log in on my computer, which i've done hundreds of times, including just yesterday.

re-routed to a security page claiming they don't recognize my device and want to send a PIN to a number I have on file. I no longer use this number, so I click on the link for "I no longer have access to this device".

They give me a number to call. Ok.

I call, go through numerous automated menus until I finally get an option to talk about my online banking.

The automated voice comes on and tells me exactly this: Thank you for being a customer. We are closed. We cannot tell you enough how much we appreciate your business with Capital One, where our banking is open 24 hours.

I think some of them are figuring out that it costs more to try to maintain a sufficient customer service team and try to satisfy everyone than it costs to just let them be deal with shite on their own. I've had some brutal AT&T, American Airlines, and Epic Ski Pass experiences

Delta will find out what you want, put you on hold, then never return.

Capital One went to shite a few years ago. They closed all the branches that I used since they were the closest to my house. I’m actually about to close all my accounts with them...

Used to use two Capital One branches. One near my home and one out of town near my work. They closed both of them within a year.

Closed my accounts.

People will disagree and throw a bit of fit...but of all the national banks, the best is Chase by a long shot. Now if you’re broke and constantly dealing with fees, I hear they’re terrible.

The access and mobile platforms from Chase make it a far superior bank experience than anything I’ve ran across recently.

Bank local if you can. Use a credit union if you can. Big banks don't give a frick about their customers. In any way shape or form.

I got fed up with Chase and pulled all my money out and closed my accounts.

Three weeks later they sent an automated payment to Entergy and then tried to collect from me the payment plus the insufficent funds fee.

For three years they harassed me for that money, and every time they contacted me, I simply told them "I closed my account. Why would you try to process anything from a closed account? I'm not paying you anything because of your company's stupidity.

They put a strike on my credit for it.

frick Chase.

And odds are, if you punch enough buttons and get the right combination to get to a live person, it’s the same call center my former company used for IT support. A bunch of Dots, all named “Bobby”. Unless you are fully multilingual, fuggitaboutit.

frick Capital One. They told me they were going to be exclusively online banking within the next year. I asked them how will I deposit multiple checks for a business, she said to take pictures. I asked what happens if I want to withdraw $5K or $6k cash to purchase something. She said. You’ll have to do it at an ATM. When I asked her how is that feasible at an ATM that limits the customer on cash withdrawals, she hung up.

Closed all Cap One Accounts and moved to Chase.

frick Capital One.

You should try calling Apple Pay

They stole $20.00 from me and so far I've spent 5 hours on the phone with Chaniqua, Gloria, Estava, Maria, blah blah blah trying to get it back.

I've come to the decision that it's not worth it

Reminds me of when I had some international flights last year I had booked on Expedia. The world was starting to shutdown their borders due to COVID and I needed to get one of my kids home from London post haste. I went on their website and it would not let me change any flights referring me to a 1-800 number. I call the number and a recording tells me that all changes should be done on the website. This went on for days if not weeks.

I finally had to buy another ticket and wait for months for Expedia to get their act together to sort their ticket. Will not use them again.

I hate banks,
No I can't stand 'em.
Give a shovel,
And man I'll plant 'em.
Six feet under is where they belong,
I hate banks is the name of this song.
Woooooo Hoo!

I work for Campus Federal Credit Union in Baton Rouge. Anyone looking to bank local should give us a shot. We have great rates and people who actually answer the phone.

You just deal with the airline directly at this point. You literally could have changed it directly through the airline.

Can we just get a sticky that says Capital One is shite bank.

It is, and anyone with an account should close it and move to a credit union or at least a local bank.

In 2021, there is no reason to be part of a large national bank. There is no need for a bank with physical branches either.
