You can order this still. It's just on the "secret" menu

The Taco Bell cancellation thread of their Mexican pizza got me thinking of how the guys in the head office seem to always f-up winning items that the populace loves.

I remember when Taco Bell first test marketed the "Mexican Pizza" as the "Pizzaz" back in the mid-80s. That fricker has been around for 35 years. Why kill it now?

These and the Taco Lite at Taco Bell were two that should have never been cancelled....

Seeing a lot of praise for the McDLT in here and I'm not sure why.

Was thinking the same thing. I remember it being a complete flop and only being on the menu for a year or so.

And the Arby’s Big Montana, but didn’t realize you could get the equivalent.
“Sounds like an Arby’s day.”

This is going to go over the heads of anyone who is not familiar with Oklahoma, Kansas, northern Texas or SW Missouri but Braum's chicken fried steak sandwiches.

We have Braum's in Western Arkansas, too. I loved those steak sandwiches, I hardly go to Braum's anymore now.

Greatest chicken sandwich of college.

Old school Popeyes onion rings are sorely missed. The thick battered nasty fake shite they sell now is more akin to Burger King onion rings

The old school nuggets and the original biscuits Al Copeland put out. The newer ones are a shadow of the originals which were buttered several times while baking.

Absolutely this. Best thing Taco Bell ever had on their menu.

Yeah, but they have to cook a spicy fillet to give you one and that takes about 10 minutes. I made that mistake one morning with my kids and they were well done with their food by the time my spicy biscuit arrived.

I remember those. I liked that it was on a sourdough bun and had its own special sauce.

I used the same meat as a quarter pounder.

Another few McDonalds gems from the late 1990’s, were things like the BigXtra which had its own 1/3 pound patties and was wider. They also had a special seasoning that was put on the patty before it was cooked, unlike the salt and pepper mix that is added once it is cooked. And my secret favorite was the Cajun McSpicy which was a spicy chicken sandwich with less crispy type of crust (It looked more like a shell than a crust) and used dark meat instead of white meat.

I know too much about McDonald’s as I spent my high school and college days behind the counter at McDonalds cooking and in management at the turn of the century.

Only in certain markets. They list mobile but I’ve asked all of the ones here and they say no.
