going on 20 consecutive day of over 100 and 108 degrees coming up.

Be careful, once it happens once it can be easier to happen again, especially as you get older. I'm naturally susceptible to heat issues, as I've dealt with it since I was a kid. The first time I went out was on the back end of a double header baseball game when was around 10 or so. Middle of July during Summer league, playing second base......kept taking off my hat and shaking my head. A few minutes later I passed completely out, flat on my back.
I've done it a handful of times since then. It is my curse.

August is definitely the worst month of the year for this. No reprieve. This is also the reason why very few people lived in south Florida before air conditioning, and why people who say "it's just as hot in Louisiana or Georgia as it is in south Florida" are missing somehing. In May and June and plenty of days in July, people in Georgia or Louisiana could use attic fans and sleeping porches and get a break. Doesn't work in south Florida.

I never cared about the heat even when I was working outside a lot more until I had kids.

No kidding. I was put in the 104 heat for a few hours changing the seals in all 4 cylinders in my John Deere 460 front end loader. All cylinders were leaking hydraulic fluid.
I've been sweating my arse off and had to be pounding water the whole time.

I also apologize to the guy who made bad decisions as a teenager and now he works outside 5 days a week and only gets one 30 minute break. The whole 85 degrees thing at 9 o'clock in the morning thing would be demoralizing. God bless you both.

As of today we are at 21 days 100 or over. Should crack top 12 later this week.
But nothing compares to 2011. That year was brutal. One night that year it was still 100 at midnight. I think we hit 115 or 117 that day.
