Of course. There is no way something like that could foster jealousy from your partner. Go for it
I've always tried to be with level-headed, trustworthy, and confident partners. That way, we never have to act like middle schoolers and tell each other who they can and can't be friends with.
To each his/her own, though.

I am assuming you mean the person of the opposite sex is heterosexual and attractive. I am going to lean toward a no on this.

I haven't seen anyone say that they tell their SO who they can and can't be friends with.

Yes but it's rare. I think one is the limit.
If a woman or a man is in a relationship and has lots of close friends of the opposite sex, then they're probably whoring.

This.
It all boils down to being honest with yourself and evaluating your partner honestly.
If your partner is actively seeking out attention of the opposite sex, then cut that shite off immediately.
From a man's perspective: your SO knows damn well what men want, and if she's indulging the attention of men other than you, then there's a problem.
From a woman's perspective: you know damn well what men want, and if your SO is spending time with another woman, you can be sure he wants to frick.
Keep in mind this has nothing to do with "keeping your partner satisfied". Some people are just broken. They have issues you (as their partner) cannot fix, and will engage in behavior detrimental to a committed relationship no matter what you do.

Absolutely it's possible.

"So you're saying that a man can be friends with a woman he finds unattractive?"
"No, you pretty much want to nail 'em too."

Do you actually wear your testicles? Or, wife keep em in her purse? If in purse, that could account for your low testosterone levels... and lack of sex drive!

Just from a guys perspective. If your SO thinks the friend is even slightly better looking than her, then no.
Plus, what woman would let you go hang out with your female friend? do fun things with the friend instead of with her?

I would say:
Possible? Yes.
Advisable? No.

Yes, but any sexual tension has to be acknowledged and dealt with. Be it by getting it out of the way or acknowledging a reason that both of you will not act on it. (Wife of a friend, work together, etc.)
If it isn’t then it will spoil the friendship.

Mikel has a hot gf and hot ex-wives. He may have no filter but he isn’t a Peter puffer.

It honestly just depends on the other person in the relationship. Is the other person insecure and will get jealous? Then it probably won't work out well. If not, then it can work.
