Do some math and let us know how that works out.

I'm coming around to the idea that some companies are taking advantage of laws and inflation to make changes they were already eyeing

I would imagine this has as much or more to do with the change as the actual min wage increase. Handling delivery in-house hasn't really made sense in areas with solid 3rd party delivery networks for a while now. By going third party you lose all the trouble of running a delivery service. Eliminating the staffing issues and the liability concerns makes a lot of sense for a restaurant and the 3rd party delivery companies should be able to be more efficient due to scale.

Didn’t California also pass a law, or was looking into a law, about contract employees that would impact DoorDash & Uber employees?

I’m very leery of my food traveling with strangers so I hardly ever have it done. Once had a food delivery dude show up at my door holding the bag of food with his mouth.

Fast-food workers in the state are set to get a pay bump of close to 30% in April as the minimum wages rises from $16 to $20 an hour.

That's exactly 25%. Why say "close to 30%"

That kind of thinking is exactly what's putting those people out of a job. But you just can't get that, can you?

California should make a law where companies cannot lay anyone off within one year of legislation affecting employees and their compensation. Gotta solve the problem they've created.

Seems like raising the minimum wage just results in a big vicious cycle. Minimum wage increases create a ripple effect in the job market. CNAs look at fast food workers and ask why they have some specialized training and certs and make as much as them. When CNAs get a bump, nurses look at CNAs and ask why they make similar with more schooling and training. Et cetera. Et cetera. There will always be pay rungs in the working world, and low-skill jobs will occupy the lowest rung. So the net result is that everyone winds up making more, employers' costs rise, and we're back at square one with low-skill workers not "making a livable wage."

uhhhh, I don't need to google it because I actually am not retarded. But since you want to call me out I did google it just to prove you wrong. According to indeed.com:
percentage increase = (increase/original value) x 100

since this is hard for you I will break it down :
(4/16) x 100
(0.25) x 100 = 25%

Btw I knew that after the 4th grade.
