If you like Filson you'll love Duluth Pack* and Frost River. Same concept, hand made in USA. Not owned by private equity so prices about half.

I own a crap ton of Frost River gear. Highly recommend.

I have saved searches for both brands on ebay. The stuff lasts forever. I buy anything closeout, old stock, gently used.

Also if you get a chance, both brands have great stores in Duluth MN. There's great fisihing, canoeing, shooting, etc... up north on the North Shore of Lake Superior. Total baw country, very remote and chill.

Bosch dishwasher

Second this as well.

Spend the extra 200-300 bucks or whatever.

It has been a reliable dream of a dishwasher.

Edit; asked our appliance repair man which dishwasher brand to purchase and he replied a Bosch, and that he gets zero calls on them.

Since everyone’s tossing around gear that survives decades, I’ll add something smaller to the mix. When you’re looking at wallets that aren’t riding on a big brand name, there’s a pretty practical breakdown on what to check for here: LINK Stuff like leather quality, stitching, structure, all the boring details that make the difference between "lifelong" and "falls apart in a year".

Can confirm the Speed Queen products are ugly but they last. Mine are under warranty until like 2028 or something.

I purchased several drones from several different companies. From $400 - $1,500. I was never really satisfied with any of them.

I finally purchased the DJI Inspire 1 Black Series. It was a game changer. It's way outdated now. But it still works like it's brand new.

If you fly drones, it's a great investment if you're into photography.

I have some old Filson bags that are good, but since the PE buyout, quality has taken a nosedive. My 2 cents:
-Saddleback products
-RM Williams boots
-Todd Snyder clothing
-Darn Tough and Rototo socks
-Elie Bleu humidors
-Wilson Combat, Ed Brown and Nighthawk 1911s

I have purchased one duffle bag for gym class in high school forty years ago. Still use it have no idea what brand. Possible champion or everlasting?

Didn’t come close to cost what an over priced designer bag cost

Most designer brand are over priced and made in same factory in China is cheaper alternatives .

Overrated and vastly overpriced

I agree thst they are overpriced, but anyone who says that yeti products are not high quality is just full of shite. This thread is asking for items that are overpriced, but very high quality and Yeti products qualify.

Why would you ever entertain using a designer bag to store wraps, knee sleeves, chalk, etc? That's straight up $30 bag territory.

Hank's Belts for carry; it's thick arse leather that looks no worse for wear after 15 years.

I've got Brooks Bros shirts and shoes I've owned for two decades that I can still wear. Just re-sole the shoes.

Louis Vuitton wallets. I've owned two, under $400. My kid uses the first one, and the one I currently use is still on point, nine years after I bought it. It's not sloppy or floppy, it's just great.

Same reason people buy designer wallets to only hold paper and plastic in.: they can tell people how much they spent on it.

Been married for 51 years. We have had 3 refrigerators. First was a green GE. It lasted 31 years. Replaced it with another GE and it is now our garage refrigerator. The third one was a Bosch to go with our Bosch dishwasher. Bosch is the brand to buy for appliances.

We're in a different circuit of douchebags. My belt was $100 when I bought it a decade ago, and is $150 now (prong belt.) Your kind of douches are what fuel my gym hate. Best of luck!

It’s all relative and there are tiers to all this stuff.

There are many budget firearms that are quality. Guns are kinda like watches. Will my timex watch tell time just like my Rolex and will my $600 Glock go bang as much as my staccato? The answer is yes but you will look much cooler if you’re wearing a Rolex while shooting a staccato vs a timex and Glock.

My Elna Carina sewing Machine
My New Home Serger
My KitchenAid Stand Mixer
My Cuisinart Food Processor

My Father's wood working tools from Delta: band saw, table saw and lathe.
Delta tools that are over 50 years old.

Solid hardwood furniture from Clore Furniture in Madison Virginia

Some original oil paintings from Michael Stack, and watercolors from Jim Gray and some lesser know artists.

i believe that most don' test them enough to prove this to themselves. Moving from an M-16 and that fun to a mil-spec 1911 where I dropped 2k rounds in a weekend picking up mags out of the dirt for two days, the Springfields were fine. Manufactured in Eastern Europe, it tracks.
