or at least that's what it seems. They always have incidents with these (fricked up people in the middle of the night with no roads and no driving rules), so I'm sure it's ramped up in recent years. Plus, more and more richer and richer people go nowadays, as the ticket prices have soared, and art cars are useful and easier to break down and transport than huge installations.

Nothing will ever top The Contessa, but there were some good ones this year.

I went there in 2004 and 2005. It's unique, and yeah, I've seen some of the most breathtaking art pieces there. These cars are nothing compared to some of the things that have been displayed over the years. Of course, someone always seems to die. Someone died this year too.

This thing was a big hit this year.

The live feed Friday night was crazy because of the art cars. You don’t realize how many people are out there until they are glowing. On the live feed, you would think you were seeing most of the action, then it would pan out and you realized you were only seeing a small piece. I have no desire to go but have many friends that go every year.

So do I, but I feel like I’ve long since passed the age of going.

For me anyway. I know there are people there of all ages.

All for what? Is it just me or does this seem like a wast of money and time? Sure It’s cool to look at but the people who spend their money and time to build this stuff could put that money and effort towards something to help this world be a better place. What do they do with all this shite when it’s over? And why do they do this in the desert in the summertime? Why not some meadow in Wyoming or something? Dam hippies are some strange people.

some people think hunting his a waste of time and money.

same for building a muscle car, golfing or any activity you can think of.

just because it isn't your cup of tea doesn't mean it isn't someone else's.

Same could be said for people who spend thousands of dollars on plastic beads. Who cares what other people spend their money on?
