Go look at lightstream. For good credit they don’t even worry about placing a lien on the title.

Comes in handy if you trade into something else in a couple years (assuming you aren’t under water)

Nice! Those AT4’s are nice and I may look at them when I get rid of my ford. Haven’t given GM a shot in a long time but they are good looking.

FWIW… my credit score is 803, not that I need it.

Not saying that your interpretation of your credit score is inaccurate, but it is very difficult to get a score of 730+ without having any open accounts. Ideally, for a high credit score, FICO likes a home mortgage, a vehicle loan, and credit cards with high limits & low balances. It's essentially a numerical evaluation of your likelihood to repay borrowed money and make payments on time.

Cash requires no credit score, I understand that all people can't do it, but that is how you end upside down. Find a used car online you can afford with no interest.

Terrible advice. Have never been upside down on any loan. You need to calculate interest over period and make sure that’s not high. When it’s something like $800 of interest over 4-5 years, that’s nothing and way more worth it to finance and hold cash for emergency or investment.

Yep. My 75 yr old dad has kind of a shitty credit score because he doesn't owe anyone money and hasn't for a long time

they said I didn’t have enough “long term” credit for a better rate bc I pay my cards off each month.

Smart men will tell you: a credit score isnt a measure of how trust worthy you are; it's a measure of how much revenue you will bring a lender.

Get a shorter term. I got 1% last year on a 36, and the 60 month rates were about 7 IIRC.

Did you even bother looking at their special offers? Takes 2 seconds.

They are offering 4.9 for 60 mos on most vehicles and 1.9 on Tundras

I usually just look at mine on credit karma and it’s usually in the 770’s to 790’s. Only seen it above 800 once there. I was surprised to see it at 831 this week.

Years ago, lol. More responsibility & headaches now.

730 isn’t that hard if you have a current mortgage, current vehicle loan, and a couple credit cards that you are current on. However, the 800+ that I was responding to would need to have the above, but high limits/low to $0 balances on credit cards.

730 is difficult to achieve & maintain if someone pays cash for everything, and pays off credit card bill at months end…

Buddy of mine just bought a new truck and got something around 3.75% with Consumers Credit Union and I'm sure he's 780 or higher.

Unfortunately, most auto lenders/captives do not view credit karma positively, and usually use Equifax or Experian. It is not uncommon to see credit scores 60-120pts lower.
