Driver

At all the top golfs ive been to, Vegas, Atlanta, Bham, you dont need a driver bc the hitting area isnt that deep. Three wood will put you on the farthest target, and im not a long hitter.

I said before i have concerns about using my good clubs with those hard topgolf balls. I damn sure wouldn't hit those things with even one of my old drivers.

And the post about everyone else will be wanting to use your clubs is spot on.

Expect Tracy from HR to get drunk and ask to use your driver only to send the head 75yards down range.

Using your 3W actually brings up a good strategy to frick with everyone that wants to use your clubs. I'm a novice and can't his a wood for shite (always tip it or get under the ball) and have to use driving irons. A few swings with your 3W anyone that doesn't play golf won't want to touch your clubs after

If I recall correctly the net is 250 yds when playing the distance game. No matter where you hit the net (on the fly, on a bounce), that's the distance you get. So, if you can hit your woods that far, that's all you will need.

The netting at the end is only 215 yards away. You don't need a driver to hit that, assuming you're actually a good golfer.

Work event Friday night. Apparently the best score gets $1000. I’m a single digit handicap and don’t know of anyone else in the office that plays golf. Want to make sure I bring this thing home. How douchey is it to show up with my own bag? FWIW, I’ve never been to a TopGolf.

Club up one or two. You will hit the ball about 85-90% of regular distance.

Should be no need to bring your own clubs if nobody else golfs.

I bet you'd probably piss some people off by doing that actually. They want to treat it as something fun and have never done it before and here you are bringing your own clubs and they realize they don't have a chance from the beginning.

Don’t bring them. That way when you lose, you can blame it on the clubs.

I'ma tell you this right now. I've never swung a golf club on a course in my life. But about a year ago I joined some folks at Top Golf to play. The two members in our group, who are also avid golfers, got pretty pissed at me b/c I kept nailing the closer targets with "hard putts". See we were on the 3rd floor and anyone with power can 'putt' the ball to the 2nd target with relative ease. Anyone in the group may very well beat you if they are more accurate on those targets than you are on the long ball.

TLDR Unless you're on the ground floor, You're going to lose to someone who doesn't golf.

Never been to a top golf. Is this like a long drive, closest to the pin, putting contest deal for the 1k? If so you better have the long drive on lock down, but be prepared for the HR lady to screw up and drain a long putt or hit a topped ball screamer to within a foot. The golf gods can be cruel.

They literally have spots for 3 or 4 golf bags in each hitting bay. I've never been to TopGolf and not brought my own clubs.

This. Why would you not want to hit with your actual clubs? I'm pretty decent, but I still prefer hitting my clubs. I know my distances, I'm more comfortable with them, they feel right in my hands. Golf is mental, and using clubs that aren't yours can definitely get in your head. And unless you all ride there together, no one will probably even notice you brought your own
